Safety Schools?

Need some safeties for my Dd (current junior) in NOVA. On our list now are Dickinson, Kenyon, Bowdoin, Amherst, etc
Stats- 34 ACT
4.03 W GPA (only 1 AP is counted in that, taking 4 this year)
3.98 UW GPA
Good ECs, nothing amazing
STEM Major- biochem or neuro possibly
Small school, preferably <5,000, liberal arts, within ~10 hour drive max. Preferably low Greek life and d3 (she is trying to be recruited)
TIA!!

Consider Juniata (in PA) and College of Wooster (in Ohio).

Why have a bunch of random LACs on your list event looking for STEM. Many better options out there.

Not sure what PP is talking about. Recommended SLAC’s are known for science.

None of those schools are safeties. The Unweighted versus weighted GPA should be a concern.

OP said that is only counting 1 completed AP which is watered down by all her regular classes over the years. With 4 APs this year should be around 4.2

They are ASKING for suggestions for safeties. They did not say their current list included safeties.

St. Mary's College of Maryland
Juniata
Smith (maybe not a safety, but worth a look)

Bucknell

Didn’t say their list wasn’t safeties either just to be clear.

Amherst, a Safety...I think not.

OP here. No, that list is very obviously not a safety, 2 targets and 2 reaches. I am asking for safeties.

Consider Mount Holyoke as another target, it’s strong in science

Kalamazoo, Wooster, St. Olaf, Lawrence - your kid will easily get into these & probably get substantial merit aid

Oops, don't think most of these are within 10 hours
