How do you eat your daily fruit? My daily fruit consumption consists of:
- 10 strawberries, - 1 slice of pineapple, - 1 orange, - 1 apple, - 2 banana, - 1 avocado, - 20 blueberries, - 10 raspberries, Instead of eating them, I just throw everything into a blender, add water and a little bit of plain non-fat yogurt and turn them into smoothies. I drink one in the morning and one in the afternoon. Is it the same thing as eating the fruit themselves? By blending the fruit, is it going to destroy some of fiber in the fruit itself? Seem like the evidence is not very conclusive. I would rather consume these fruit in liquid form than spend the time eating them. What do you think? |
| I think there is no point to eating that much fruit if you don’t like eating fruit. |
| I don't eat dairy so that wouldn't work for me. |
| I dont consume nearly as much as you do. I have them whole, without adding anything to them (except avocado, I have that with olive oil and salt). So raspberries by themselves etc. I rather eat than drink in general. |
|
I don't like fruit. I eat clementines sometimes.
I eat a ton of vegetables, though. |

That's a lot of fruit!
I would add spinach, chia seeds, protein powder, something to take the edge off of the sugar shock. No change to fiber or nutrition. Maybe less chewing = less digestive enzymes. I eat a piece of fruit 15-20 min before a meal or as part of a snack. In a day I have an apple, a grapefruit, 3 small oranges, sometimes a banana and half avacodo. Sometimes whatever berries are around, just rinsed and munched on. My smoothies are mostly spinach, protein powder and a handle of frozen berries or half a frozen banana. |
| I never drink my calories. I could sip down that smoothie in 5 min and not feel full. I could eat much slower and get more satisfaction. In general I watch my sugar so that list is more like how much fruit I eat in 3 days. |

Pears and apples every day. Cut into quarters.

This NYTimes article says that eating fruit is better: https://well.blogs.nytimes.com/2016/05/13/ask-well-the-downside-of-smoothies/ |
| I have fruit at bedtime. Prunes usually. You can guess why. |
| Doesn’t it take you a ton of time to prep that? Between the washing and cutting (especially a whole apple), just to drink something that won’t keep you full? I’d rather eat my fruit but to each his own. |

Whoa, that's a lot of carbs.
But I am sure it doesn't matter if you blend them. Now, if you juiced them and only drank juice then you would miss on fiber. |
| That's a lot of fruit. I have a whole apple or some sliced pineapple at breakfast, and that's it. Whole veggies at lunch and dinner. |
| I love fruit, but I still only have 3-5 servings a day. Banana for breakfast, yogurt with thawed frozen berries for lunch lunch, two more pieces of fruit for lunch (maybe banana, orange, apple, fresh berries, depending on season), then sometimes another piece of fruit while making dinner. |

That’s a lot of fruit. I eat a piece of fruit maybe 3x a week. Unless you count avocado. I have that maybe 2x a week.
I eat a good amount of vegetables. |
