TV news babes and their fake eyelashes

Anonymous
So apparently attractive TV news babes wearing fake eyelashes is all the rage now. I've been watching CNBC and they ALL wear them--Sarah Eisen, Morgan what's her name and the one brunette who is on now. I don't get it. Why do they do it? Do they think viewers don't notice? Or do they simply not care?

Looks totally trashy.

Fake eyelashes seem to in among blogger/IGers too...ladies who want to look extra feminine and sexy.

It's been a thing for a while now. Even Marie Kondo has them.

What about the eyebrow threading trend and creating big strangely shaped eyebrows that seem like they are above where a normal eyebrow should be.

I feel like a few years from now there will be a bunch of ladies running around with big artificial eyebrows and no eyelashes because they were ripped off by using so many fake eyelashes and they will wonder WTF they were thinking.

Why are noticeably cosmeticized eyelashes bad, but noticeably cosmeticized lip color isn't? Or do you object to that also?

Not OP, but the altered lips are so much worse! Oh and the botox. It is downright frightening to see someone speak and laugh while the rest of the face is frozen.

+1
Thank you. The botox people look all puffy and effed up, like they are sick. No way will that look good in the years to come.

False eyelashes have been the standard for tv and movies for awhile. Screen makeup techniques come from stage makeup, where features have to be overly exaggerated or else you can't see them. If someone were to go on tv wearing regular makeup and no falsies they would look very strange. You really need all the lashes, eyeliner, bronzer, highlighter, etc or else your face just looks like a blank circle and you can't convey facial expressions as well. Same with Instagram, those makeup techniques also come from stage makeup.

What I find scarier is that girls now use these stage makeup techniques for every day makeup, and it looks awful. My friends would always laugh at how my stage makeup looked up close- it's super scary with all the contouring and crazy colors, and it's pancaked on- but now that's exactly what I see women and girls wearing in person all the time.

And like PP said, they do rip out your lashes. When I was a performer, I knew many women who lost their eyelashes because we had to wear falsies almost every day. I still have a patch on one lid that doesn't grow in right. Ah, the price we pay for showbiz.....

Lip COLOR. As in, lipstick.

Yes, those eyelashes look like spiders on their eyes! I see all these eyelash salons around now - and I just feel such horror at the idea of someone messing around with my eyes like that. It just seems like there's so much potential for things to go wrong.

That said they do look - sexy isn't the word. Flashy? Pulled together? I don't hate the spider eye look I am just too worried about infection and/or blindness to do it.

TV people have always worn them. You're just noticing now because they are bigger/longer and because of HD tvs and cameras.

That said, getting eyelash extensions and fills are as normal for regular ladies where I live now as getting regular manicures are. Just a part of the grooming routine now.

It’s called microblading and it’s technically tattooed on their faces.

I wondered about this because so many of them blink and blink and blink and I wanted to know if this is because the lights melt the glue, which gets in their eyes. Never tried them out myself.

You see them all the time in porn.

Is wearing eye liner also trashy?
