?????? It looks like someone just used the photo from the newspaper for a side by side. I still don't understand why so many posters are hung up on this issue. That clearly is Charlotte's face. The coloring looks legit -- she has blondish hair like her brothers and William.

Hmmm, I didn't think anything of it but it looks like this article might be on to something.

They have quoted a source close to the royals saying: “Wills thinks Zara could be just the tonic to help solve his ‘staffing’ problem in the years to come – now he just has to convince her of that.”

According to previous reports his cousins, Prince Andrew's daughters Beatrice and Eugenie who are ninth and tenth in line to the throne, have already made it clear they would be willing to step up if needed.

But William is far closer to smiling mother-of-three Zara, who is 19th in line to the throne, and her husband Mike.

Dumb. Clearly William doesn’t want anything to do with anyone who still is in touch with Harry which Eugenia is (note he also cut off a mutual journalist friend recently for the same reason) but it makes no sense for someone 19th in line for the throne and her meathead husband to be working royals. They’re just too far down the pecking order. The smartest move for William and Kate is to just try and do it all themselves so that they can pass the whole shebang down to their kids without all the other hanger ons that the public doesn’t care about.

The photo is heavily edited, and I don't mean that as snark, like they are covering something up or trying to make her look different. I mean you can tell it was done by an amateur, which Kate is. My guess is there was a lot of sunlight and Kate the amateur doesn't know how to make those adjustments and the over edited quality is to try and correct for the lighting problem.

It's weird because both her brothers have hair that does the same thing. Also if you look back at photos of Meghan and Harry's wedding you can see similar highlights in her hair then, it seems her hair might be turning which is totally normal and not crazy considering there's plenty of blondes in her family including her father. Much ado about nothing.

The other photo - even the comparison with baby William - made her hair look blonder. This doesn't look bleached. It's a few inches down and could very well be the sun-bleached hair from last summer.

The year my daughter went to camp, her hair looked a lot like this in the winter - browner on top, sun-bleached blond on the bottom.

I just think it’s a weird photo. I totally get that it’s normal and typical “kid”, but if I snapped that photo on my phone I’d probably delete and redo it. Her hair is really messy…which is fine except it is DISTRACTING from her face. Messy hair is fine but it’s where your eyes go, instead of her face. She also looks like a teenager, and most of Kate’s photos feature the kids looking like proper children.

The photos of George a few years ago when he was all sweaty from playing and the photo of him rolling in the grass were adorable. This one misses the mark somehow.

The whole photo is wrong. Her hair is frizzy, her arms are cut off, her eyes are looking in opposite directions. It looks like Kate took a photo of Charlotte with her friends, cropped it so they couldn't be seen, and rushed it out to the MIL who was demanding a photo.
