should not be worried about adding good competitive clubs. I don’t think Metro makes it even though older ages are good. That I get. Also think Arlington should get in even though seems like the parents in this club seem to bother people.
Again you do not have to hang out with the parents. The idea
That adding these two clubs will water down soccer is silly. None of these clubs has Alex Morgan but they all have decent players who will benefit from playing each other.

Yeah - do that and we will have 3 good teams and 4 crappy teams at each age group. If you don’t add any of the teams, the players will move to Ecnl, and 3/4 of the ecnl teams for each age will be great.

Speaking of girls:

I think this could take years to shake out.

We don’t know yet what FCV and Arlington are doing. Their older teams may largely stay put if they put together a plan to compete in national showcases against other like clubs.

FCV will probably have a difficult recruiting year particularly for 08s given the current uncertainty.

It might be wise for whatever planned national competitions they are cooking up for next year to only be for 07 (next years U14s) and above.

Parents want less travel and this adds competitive clubs regionally. The soccerwire interview is telling. For the next year all sports are on shakey ground and added revenue is good insurance.

Maybe. I know Arlington, on the boys side, do not want to be in ECNL.

I don’t blame them. I would never put my kids on an ECNL team with that ridiculous travel.

Several of their better players on the 07 team are actually 08s. Would be in their best interest to find a good 08 ECNL team. I think you'll see the 07s jump ship to one of the other ECNL teams as well.

I guess we know who has an 07 in the bottom half of the roster.

If you add FCV and Arlington travel will be reduced. Let’s face it, a national league will not play this fall. So you play insatiable when each state opens. Try to get back to normal in the spring doing regional show cases.

ex-DA parents you really need to swallow this pill:
Your previous experience-DA club will not be permitted into ECNL. Props to MU for accepting this. If I was FCV, I’d either jump ship to ECNL if you can or Herndon, maybe GFR. At least they’re planning beyond blind hope.

Arlington will be done because they have a lot of players.

Now you need to accept that your kids spot may now be up for grabs.

Arlington will be fine. Yes, the top players will most likely jump the ship for ECNL programs, but most of the players will stay and play in CCL and NCSL. Perhaps they will join EDP, but nothing has been officially announced.

FCV is going to the newly formed Girls Academy League, so all of your kid's spots are safe. FCV will continue to thrive in the new league. In a couple of years the ECNL will now that they made a huge mistake not allowing FCV in.

U18 missing senior season, already committed to college. And while many parents are worried as you stated (correctly, I think), this is why ECNL isn’t expanding for no reason. Their existing members will get stronger. I’m sure they may consider in the future, but FCV, Arlington, MU aren’t just going to roll in.

When rosters come out, we’ll see. But thank you for admitting FCV is not in ECNL.
