Feedback on VLC Club Lacrosse?

US club lax has listed the tournament as one that feeds the ranking data, but when look at the details for VLC 2026 none of the games are listed. So either US Club lax is cherry picking data that justifies certain team ranks or they are just sloppy, either way the rankings are suspect.

OMG! We got VLC conspiracy dad chirping! Call Tucker Carlson so he can do a show on USClublax out to screw VLC 6th graders! Plenty of teams have gripes about rankings. The only team really happy is the Hawks.

Really dont understand why VLC shares website with Crabs. No info there about rosters, highlights etc. Take a look at the DC Express website and their HS teams have nice profiles and have links to highlights for players. DC Express provides a platform for the kids. VLC and Crabs do a disservice to their players seeking to play in college. Maybe VLC is really cheap for the parents but maybe paying a little extra would give players exposure.

If you have any questions regarding the recruiting support at VLC attend the recruiting seminar tonight. Spoiler alert college coaches would tell you the club website has zero impact on recruiting if you ask them.

This is a good source of information. Having attended in past years, the family testimonials about the recruiting process are always helpful - whether it's high Div I your child is shooting for, or high academic Div III (NESCAC/Centennial), and anything else in between. VLC has sent kids to virtually every type of program.

Given the pandemic that has impacted the landscape the past 6 months, I imagine the parents' perspective will be especially useful.

The seminar was great. No extra marketing of "you'll all play D1" but a realistic look at the ever changing landscape of recruiting with a few pushes to the athletes about how they need to own the process...both academically and athletically.

I agree. Very sober and realistic picture. The parents' panel was especially helpful.

U of Maryland expects a $500M shortfall next year, on top of -$230M this past academic year. Don't be surprised if some non-revenue generating athletic programs shut down.

Which has what to do with VLC specifically? πŸ™„

Likely referring to the recruiting talk. Essentially saying don’t expect money and athletic scholarships may not be fully funded. Coaches brought up prospect of a number of programs being eliminated.

Doesn't look like the 2022 VLC team has had any commits yet. I know its still early but looking at https://www.insidelacrosse.com/recruiting/commitments?class=2022&league=1 it seems kids are certainly going from other teams. I think these 22s are going to need a red hot Fall or they will get passed by as teams make their choices and start looking ahead to 2023s.

I don't know about the VLC 2022s but there's no rush. Plenty of good college teams are well-known to wait until senior year to make offers. Just look at how many 2021s are just now committing to D1 colleges, even upper-tier colleges. Your first offer is not always the best fit.

Why is VLC holding tryouts for 2026s NOW?
