Dems are still in denial about the laptop. They think Apple is in on the conspiracy.

Americans should be subjected to drug testing because Hunter got convicted. Losing your rights because the president’s son faced consequences makes absolutely perfect sense. Maybe all Americans should have to turn their laptops over to the FBI so they can analyze the hard drives for evidence of drug use?

You aren't losing any rights if you aren't doing drugs.

You have the right to a warrant for searches.

Democrats only defend Hunter Biden’s right to own a gun. His crack addiction is perfectly fine to them.

We don't defend Hunter at all. He's an addict, and he should not have bought a gun and lied on his application about his drug addiction.
What we are unhappy about is the selective prosecution of Hunter because of who his father is. Anyone else facing the same charges would get a slap on the wrist, a little rehab, a small fine. Hunter was targeted by the GOP because he was vulnerable. I didn't hear any complaining about the "weaponized" Federal justice system (the Feds indicted Hunter) from the GOP. I guess it's only "weaponized" when it's indicting a real criminal, their convicted felon, bloated, adderal-addicted, dementia-riddled orange Adonis!

People who buy guns illegally don’t get sentenced to rehab. Delusional.

The prosecution is to protecting Joe Biden by not going after FARA charges that implicate the President, who is part of the real crimes.
Plus they get to give teeth to a law that the NRA is against.

Congratulations MAGA!
You’ve actually gotten me to feel sorry for Hunter Biden.
Well done!

Yeah no. That's not what's happening.

Plain and simple, this was the correct outcome. You break the law, you pay the price. I can’t stand Trump and am Republican. The Justice system works. Period.

So we are prosecuting addicts who purchase guns! This is great news.
No need to start cracking a bunch of “tell alls” at Barns and Noble, certainly there are plenty of ex wives and ex girlfriends with pics and text messages to move 1000’s of cases into the courts.
Wonderful!

The vast majority of drug addicts don’t publish books proving they have broken the law. I would confidently say Hunter Biden is the sole crack addict who has done that.

The vast majority of crack addicts don’t take their computers, with pictures, videos, emails, and messages documenting their drug use to computer repair shops, and abandon them.

You think the Hunter is the only drug addict who has written a memoir about their drug use and addiction? Oh my sweet summer child.

You forgot the gun part.

There are memoirs where the author confesses to much much worse. Stealing, rape, assault. It's all very common in the genre.

Show me an addict with a memoir about his drug use that showed purchase of a weapon at the same time who didn’t get charged.

Tarek El Moussa, the guy from HGTV. His memoir talks about his addiction to steroids and how he bought a gun.

But he's cute. So he shouldn't be prosecuted. (I have a soft spot for him. Never liked the ex.)

Ew, no. I don’t like his ex either but he is not cute.

Yup. Only liberals are fooled by this maneuvering but the rest of us followed the news reports and know what was allowed to fall through the cracks.

That’s Hunter’s problem. Enablers feel sorry for him while he’s spent his whole life doing crack, buying prostitutes, ignoring his kids, and avoiding responsibility. If he wasn’t a Biden he would be homeless or been imprisoned years ago. He got his brother’s widow addicted to crack.

Absolutely! Fully agree not everyone should have a gun including those addicted to drugs.

- Republican

THANK YOU! Looking forward to hearing from more of your party getting on board!

When were republicans against enforcing current regulations against drug users and guns?

Here you go...

I read this and don’t see the problem. Cato is asking the Supreme Court to clarify when this applies. Is it a single incident? Extended use? Nowhere does this suggest a drug addict deserves to purchase a weapon.

Lower courts have interpreted it to require some degree of regular drug use, which Hunter definitely was guilty of doing.

"In short, our history and tradition may support some limits on an intoxicated person’s right to carry a weapon, but it does not justify disarming a sober citizen based exclusively on his past drug usage," he wrote.

Hunter was actively, heavily using crack every 15 minutes while he was awake, and when he woke in the morning the first thing he would do would fire up his crack pipe. He was not a sober man with a history of past drug use.

Americans have a drug problem, so I’m certain will we see thousands of these prosecutions moving forward.
This is great progress.
