I had a D&E at 17 weeks pregnant, and this was all done with a lot of medical supports in place. I cannot imagine the utter grief and shock I would have felt if I’d had a spontaneous stillbirth at 22 weeks.
The lack of empathy - in this case, for a woman who lost her fetus - is incomprehensible to me and precisely why America today SUCKS. |
Why? The fetus was already dead. So they could resuscitate it? |
| This thread title needs to be changed. |
It doesn’t. It reflects the forced birther plan of targeting women to show their muscle. That’s all this is. |

I asked my young teen what a woman would likely do with the contents of her womb if she had a miscarriage/stillbirth into a toilet.
"flush it" My kid volunteers with animals, sick people (at a hospital) and takes care of a special needs friend at school, so not a sociopath. Just saying. |
Wonder what that costs. But, while it's horrifying to think of having to explain to the cops or medics or whatever, Maybe if enough of us call 911 about the contents of our period toilet bowls, these men will start to figure it out. We don't have to mail the bloody tissue to them, just invite them over |
What? She wasn't charged for having a stillbirth. Stop lying. |
It wasn't a baby. |
But she was charged with how she dealt with the aftermath of her stillbirth. And as you can see from reading through this thread, most women and even men can understand how she, who gave birth alone on a toilet after having gone twice to a hospital that didn't admit her but apparently told her the fetus was doomed, reacted the way she did. And think should be helped, not harassed and prosecuted, especially not for a felony, given how common it is for women to flush what comes out of their uterus down the toilet. |
x1 billion I can’t believe people are faulting her here or think this should be prosecuted as a felony. What is the problem with these people? It’s disturbing. |
“Woman charged with a felony because she had a miscarriage in a red state.” |
| "Ohio woman" is going to be a thing now, isn't it? |
|
Well if that assessment makes you feel better, go with it. |
Don´t you dare! The problem is the Republican Ohio legislature, not this woman or the women of Ohio in general. Ohio wasn´t a red state until it was horribly gerrymandered by Republicans. Now it´s very difficult to elect Democrats in Ohio. |
