WRONG! MCPS is going to let it go.

MCPS wants to let it go but the public won't. Between making it on national news and the tons of angry MoCo residents, sorry but no one is letting this one go.

Biedleman and his team know to simply wait out the foaming at the mouth mob. In two weeks this will be administratively resolved. Maybe (very big MAYBE) Biedleman is given a couple weeks of suspension. All staff will be required to take some sort of canned training though. He will absolutely not be fired.

Wishful thinking, Joel. You're done. And so are your friends in MCPS Administration.

I actually hope he is very publicly fired. But I also know how the system works and already see the wheels well in motion for for some sort of “administrative resolution” that protects both the purported victims and supposed accused. If there’s any punishment, Biedleman will get at max some sort of slap on the wrist. If in the very remote possibility he does leave, expect a very large severance package.
I’ll come back to this space at Thanksgiving to see where the situation is.

100 percent this. Not because it’s the right outcome but because the superintendent, the board, and senior managers are all implicated. They’ve hired their law firm to make the victims go away quietly and once that happens everything will be back as it was.

I think he will be fired, but first he will be put on extended paid leave for the remainder of this year. MCPS keeps people on paid leave until the furor dies down. Long enough to see if anything else emerges while they’re out. When they think the dust has settled, or if the person has support from the right people, back they go. If they think someone at their school will resist and be a noisy troublemaker, then they move the person to another school or to central office. This is the way of MCPS, folks. I’ve seen it with all manner of employees and all manner of offenses. When you talk to the admins who have left who were not harassed themselves, they will tell you they left because MCPS wanted them to behave in ways that conflicted with their values. It’s a CYA and protect your own culture. The only reason I think JB will be fired is because I think people have had it and the furor will not die down, and more people also are likely to come forward.

FWIW, he is no longer listed on the Paint Branch web site or staff directory.

No matter what happens, Joel is definitely not coming back to Paint Branch.

I could see them trying to stuff him away in a position at CO, but that all depends on how the next few months play out.

This is disgraceful. Trust is gone and not likely to return.

Even if that were the goal, which I don't think it is - resolving this administratively in 2 weeks at the end of August, with school starting, would be like running a marathon in an hour and a half.

He is still listed as PBHS principal in Outlook.

I assume everyone agrees if he (and his enablers) are allowed to stay if will look very very bad for MCPS. McKnight will need to go at that point. She already part his enabling and promotion already.

He is for sure getting released from employment from MCPS. They may let him resign or retire but no way is he staying employed.

Yes, people will be tracking this news and if MCPS keeps him in any capacity, they'll have a bigger problem.
