| Divorced for a year and I never realized before how much my DH spent or cost, particularly when it came to food. He always ate out for lunch $$, ate 3x what I do and always wanted meat, had to have the pricey cable package, etc. I am trying to find the bright side to this divorce and not spending so much is definitely a plus. |
| Yeah cause there certainly aren’t any wives out there who spend $500+ on a handbag or a pair of shoes. What’s your point exactly? |
My point is that men in general spend more money on food. And I am not one of those women who spend $$ on bags or shoes. I suppose iI have realized that it is nice to have control over what is being spent. |
| Yes, men tend to be bigger than women on average, and consume more calories per day on average. Thus, higher food costs. |
| How much did he spend on makeup, beauty products, and getting his hair done? |
| What a dumb thread |
| I'm separated and it is the best feeling to open up the online banking or the credit card and not have a bunch of surprises! I have always maintained a spreadsheet to reconcile the bank account and project spending several months out, and now I don't have to re-adjust constantly. My only stress right now is whether STBX will actually continue contributing to the shared debts/obligations or make good on the threats to leave those to me to cover on my own. |
| I would have noticed it while married. |
Way to hit OP while she’s down. Back off. |
It was a perfectly reasonable response. Sorry I’m not going to encourage OP’s blatant self indulgence. |
Sounds like OP touched on a sensitive subject for you. How many lbs overweight are you? |
DP - I agree with the PP you're quoting. and FTR, I'm 47 years old, 5'11", 178 lbs, 4 visible abs (working on the last two), very athletic and in shape, full head of black hair though graying slightly, salt and pepper beard (neatly trimmed - wife loves it). Happy to share more if you have any additional questions.... |
I’m a female, size 4. Next question? |
You sound like a walking midlife crisis |
| My husband isn't expensive. He rarely buys anything, and if he needs something I buy it. Now, my kid... he's expensive. |
