Alternatives to Michigan?

Anonymous
My son loves University of Michigan. Obviously, it's pretty difficult to get into & very expensive for OOS. I'm not sure how the aid is for those aren't Michigan residents, but I assume it's not great. What are good alternatives?

I suppose OSU but if he really loves Michigan he may recoil from that idea. Some of the SEC schools are good options if you want merit aid - Alabama, Clemson etc.

It's the school college counseling suggested as a Michigan alternative.

I like your style. But, we all know the good ones versus the ones that might as well be community college.

Wisconsin is an internationally ranked top 25 school. There are specific programs at other Big 10 schools that are world class. YMMV but that is such an ill-informed statement.

Northwestern isn't too shabby either.

if OP’s DC is borderline for Michigan, you really think Northwestern is a good suggestion? Uh...
