There's definitely d1 talent sprinkled all across the state through public programs. Doesn't really matter that much. Playing is college is playing in college so whatever the division, it's a huge accomplishment for any kid to be a college athlete.

JU was good. They were top tier. They are trying to get back. Agreed seeing the field is a big deal. That young man is solid and was under recruited in most peoples minds.

Robinson should undoubtably be the #1 seed. I expect them to go undefeated this year in conference play. They are lead by the Best Defense in the state (Penn state commit - Peyton Larsen & 2 Lynchburg commits - Sam Readyhough and company). The big question will be their offense - led by York commit Tommy Agents. It should absolutely be strong enough to win them the conference and the region, but not sure if it has the firepower to win 3 games in states...

The 2 seed, and the other state tournament spot coming out of Region C is where it gets interesting... It seems wide open to start the year.

In my opinion it will be a three team race for the last state tournament spot (#2 seed) between Woodson, West Po, and Lake Braddock. I think all three are pretty even heading into the spring.

Woodson: They are returning 80% of their starting team from last spring and are a very senior heavy roster. Woodson is an interesting team to watch this spring. I think they have the best Attack unit in the Region Led by Braswell (Mary Washington Commit), Bilotta (Nazareth Commit), and Mathias (Sophmore).... Their offense is also complemented with French (Frostburg state commit) at midfield. Defensively they are led by Fegan (Junior) who is the best goalie in this region (and possibly the state). However, I did hear that they graduated most of their close D (including their D1 LSM), so we will see if they can rally around their goalie to make a state push.

West Po: The defending state champions should absolutely be in the conversation to make another state tournament appearance. They did lose 4/5 of their offensive studs (including their state POTY Maloney ), their 1st team all region fogo, and their all state defender. The Wolverines will lean on all state attackmen Sean Kovalsky and some younger pieces to make a push this year. Don’t count out the state champs, especially with how talented their coaching staff is.

Lake Braddock: This is a very interesting team in 2026. LB last year had the best young group in the Patriot. 70% of their starters last season (2025) were either freshman or sophomore’s. I expect them to be very competitive this spring. Almost their entire offense (5/6 starters) were underclass and are returning, however they did lose some key pieces on defense. They should have a good shot to compete and get in this year IMO. If they cannot climb the mountain this spring. I expect them to be favorites to make the state tournament as the #2 seed in 2027 after Woodson graduates all their seniors and WP loses Kovalsky.

I do think Hayfield will win the national again, but I think they lost too much to compete for the 2 seed in regions against the firepower in the patriot.

Although I have Woodson, West Po, and Lake Braddock and in a tier of their own underneath Robo. I think the patriot conference overall will be very competitive this spring. I think the rest of the teams (Soco, Fairfax, west Springfield, AC) can surprise some teams and end up in the conference late in the season for the 2 seed as well. All 4 of those teams are also returning most of their main guys. It will be interesting to see how things pan out.

Really impressed with Lake Braddock. and excited to see them play. New Goalie has large shoes to fill with LIU grad but kid is strong between the pipes. Rest of poles are stout. LSM is a maniac causing chaos on both sides of the field. I expect him to be MVP for the Bruins and get a lot of calls next fall.

Bruins offense is the question mark. If attack can stay disciplined and move the ball, good things can happen. Hero ball and off cage poor shot selection could doom them however.

I know scrimmages are just that... and most coaches play their benches in the 2nd half. With hat being said are there any good scrimmages between the top teams that everyone has being discussing on this board.
