The Trump Women and their Fashion Mishaps - Part Three

Guys I promise you can dislike your fave's outfit once in a blue moon. My brother is (sadly) MAGA and even he thought it was slovenly when JD wore a stained tux. It's okay to criticize one pair of pants for being too informal.

idgaf about the pants, they look fine. boring.

I think you're taking the concept of "dress code" waaaaay too seriously. She doesn't wear pants to "throw insult" on anyone. She wears them because she's comfortable in them and looks fantastic. Good on her. They were obviously very dressy and elegant and were fine for the occasion. It wasn't a state dinner.

DP. It was a black tie event. It doesn't matter if it was a state dinner or otherwise. If the dress code was black tie, it was black tie.

It's a cute outfit but it's too informal.

This is fine, looks nice. Her being the first lady and her dh are inappropriate in every other way but the outfit is OK, those are fancy pants

It's really not. This was Usha at the same event:

That's just from the waist up but you can see in the pic of her below she is in a floor length gown:

Second-in-Command's wife is in a gown and you're in pants and a blouse? An evening tux like the one she wore last admin would've worked, this is just too casual.

He needs a new shirt and tie! Dreadful!

It's not appropriate for a black tie gala. I love her style, and I love this outfit, but it's not the time or place.

As usual, she dresses in a wildly inappropriate way. It must be on purpose, to show disrespect. So rude. What even show up?

I think she sees these people as like, low-level henchmen she doesn't want to disgrace herself by being around. Like, she's fine being around someone like Usha who is educated and has manners. She doesn't want to be around some toothless rubes from Kansas.

I like the outfit and kind of love how much she’s phoning it in for a dinner with th R state governors and their wives. I would also love to give her a map of the U.S. with no place names and see how many states she could correctly label. My guess is less than 10.

Am rewatching West Wing and it’s sort of amazing how classic the women look at all the formal events. Nothing over the top fashion wise — just flattering dresses in nice fabrics.

I'm thinking 2. New York and Florida. Maybe California.

The only time I've seen her wear an actual color since the Inauguration was in the UK. Except for the red coat at the recent children's event.

Melania dresses well. Pants are a perfectly acceptable choice for State Dinners, if they're fancy enough. Usha is limited in her choices if she's pregnant, and historically has not dressed well at all. Usha matches her husband is terms of charisma and appearance.

When was a gown the only choice for women at formal events? That line of thought is very regressive, and I think it shows that where Melania is concerned, some so-called progressives will just run their mouth before their brains. And I'm a progressive. I don't admire anything about Melania except her fashion and the way she wears clothes. Give credit where credit is due.

I'm thinking she was either tired of being cold, someone lost her dress or she just didn't give a fig?

I disagree. I like many of her fashion choices. But wearing pants and a blouse to a black tie dinner is too informal. Has zero to do with her politics.

JD struggles to find a good shirt.

He has a very voluptuous body for a man which probably creates a challenge.

Melania's pants surprise me bc Trump famously likes his women in skirts and dresses.
So, good for her I guess.

He looks so old and haggard in that pic.
