Has anyone successfully lost weight on the 16/8 intermittent fast? Easting for 8 hours and fasting for 16? |
Many have. Weight loss depends on a lot of factors, one important factor being metabolic health and chronic insulin levels vs. postprandial levels. |
I lost five pounds over about 6 months. I’ve continued another four months but haven’t lost any weight, but I have maintained. |
Yes. If you make the fast from "dinner at 7 to lunch at noon the next day" then 8 hours of the fast is sleeping, which are easy hours. |
I eat from noon - 8 pm and I am doing weight watchers. When I stick to it, I lose weight. |
That doesn’t seem like much over the course of six months though. |
^^
The point is she is not gaining. |
12/12 is the best i can do. I am not gaining. |
just about 30 pounds over 18 months |
Nope, it’s not. But nothing else had been successful before and I had been gaining a pound or so a year, so I’ll take it. I don’t have a ton to lose, either. |
Try to push the fasting period to 18 hours. That is really the sweet spot. |
You won't lose weight if you still cram your normal amount of calories into your eating window. Weight loss always is and always will be nothing more than expending more calories than you take in and being in a deficit. If you won't be limiting your calories by eating this way, it's not going to do anything for you. . |
Agree, 18 is what I do daily and it works like a charm. |
Yes and no. Calories burned is actually a function of calories eaten. This complex function makes calorie counting hard. Also calories burned is a function of hormonal and metabolic health. |
Slow but steady. She probably isn't deprived in any way, either. |
