Magna cum Laude means he graduated near the top of his Harvard Law School class- in other words he had great grades |
I don't doubt that Obama may have greatly benefited from the grade inflation that is endemic at places like Harvard Law School.
That's why the absence of any publication history at Harvard Law School, despite being Law Review President, is so significant. It's inconsistent with a Magna Cum Laude pedigree. It suggests that Obama may have been the beneficiary of a little "affirmative action personal grade inflation." We'll never know since Obama himself has never explained this very serious discrepancy in his academic record. |
Obama actually is intelligent and a terrifically dedicated worker. People take him seriously because he’s a serious person. Unlike the oily Russian sump pump squatting in the White House presently. No one takes him seriously because he’s a criminal and a clown. And really, really sweaty. |
OMG, when one is president of a law review, it means they manage the entire publication, including being the final editor of every single article in each volume. One doesn't write new articles when one is President. Your ignorance is oozing here. |
How many Magna Cum Laude's are there in each class? If grade inflation was the kicker, wouldn't there be a hundred of them? |
Exactly. For people to suggest or theorize that Obama had bad grades at Harvard indicates, if the speaker didn't go to college, perhaps earnest belief but ignorance, or if the speaker did go to college, deliberate and willful deceit of non-college attendees and insulting the intelligence of those who did go to college. There aren't really any other legitimate explanations here. |
I now understand why so many people fall for ridiculous conspiracy theories. They think of the most wildly implausible scenario that would align with their preconceived notions and worldview. Meanwhile Occam's Razor is the most likely answer: Obama earned his grades. The law review President selects topics to cover in their publications, edits articles, organizes and assigns the law review staff to various tasks, and generally manages the publication. It's much different from being an author. Further, the Harvard law review publishes many articles by outside authors. It fields hundreds - if not thousands - of proposed articles by outsiders each year. Separately, it wouldn't surprise me if the HLR President is not allowed to publish a piece due to ethics. The HLR President chooses articles published in the review; it would be inappropriate and unethical for him to choose his own article. |
Yuck. I always want to wash my eyes after reading these kinds of posts. Lawrence Tribe spent several hours in conversation with Obama and hired him as his research assistant. They worked together on publications for two and a half years. https://www.pbs.org/wgbh/pages/frontline/government-elections-politics/choice-2012/the-frontline-interview-laurence-tribe/ |
If Trump's deeply corrupt inner circle was furiously conspiring to hide his academic records from America in 2011, doesn't that imply that Trump decided to run for president *before* 2012 (our current understanding based on statements by Trump adviser Sam Nunberg)? |
Cohen testifying some more today, right? Wonder if we will get any hints about other secrets he reveals. |
Dude brought multiple wheeled suitcases full of documents today. https://twitter.com/mchalfant16/status/1103295287572025345?s=21 |
He did say he knew where the bodies were buried - who could guess he meant ACTUAL BODIES? ![]() |
LOL or he and his lawyers are just catching the Acela back to NY this evening. |
I just jumped to the last page and read this. How on earth did we get here...lol This person clearly hasn't been through law school to know that not all people who work for law review get to publish, smart or not. |
There would be somewhere else to store their luggage besides the actual hearing room. |
