Coaching talent (yeah, say what you want about their personal and personality shortcomings, but can't touch them talent wise), the ability to recruit, and the ability to get players recruited, all signal a rise in both of those programs. At the expense of many others, but probably most notably Prep.

Suilly suggestion.

O'Connell and Prep do not compete for the same students or athletes.

This hurts the other WCAC schools, especially Gonzaga.

It might, or it might be a case of Steve Spurrier at South Carolina -- significant improvement to the program but didn't have the wealth of talent to draw upon that made him a coach of a national championship contender at Florida. Time will tell. I always wish people the best so hopefully this will be a great and positive second act for Giblin in area lacrosse.

Bishop (Denis J.) O'Connell HS in Arlington, VA.

Hopefully it works out for him and their program.

I don't think Giblin will be able to pull in kids who are seriously considering Prep.

I suspect Giblin might be able to lure away NOVA players who are considering Gonzaga, Paul VI and maybe even St. Stephens.

Giblin coaching O'Connell will have little to no effect on Prep. They are two different schools with different histories, reputations, etc. The kids playing lacrosse at Prep (and their parents) would never consider O'Connell for reasons having nothing to do with lacrosse. Had Giblin gone to Saint Johns, it would have affected Prep a little but more.

Going to St. John's would have been a bigger effect, but Giblin still is attractive to many Catholic lax families.

Expect some kids to go to O'Connell now because of Giblin, particularly some VA kids.

PVI kids might fit that category.

PVI is moving so some kids won't want to drive all the way out to PVI.

impacts PVI and Gonzaga more than any other school in the area.

Is Giblin already in place at DJO? Will there be fall ball?

Disagree regarding Gonzaga. O'Connell and Gonzaga are very different schools, the most obviouse being all male v. coed which is a huge difference, and the majority of parents choose the later for many reasons, only one of which may be lacrosse. We live very close to O'Connell, my son played lax at Gonzaga and we never would have sent him to either school based solely on the lacrosse coach. We wanted what Gonzaga offers, not what O'Connell offers, for him as a whole person, not just an athlete.

Yes, Giblin is in place at DJO.

Any D-3 verbals for class of 2017 IAC players announced yet?

Does anyone know anything about the DC Express lacrosse club. It is a combination of the Bethesda Lacrosse Club, Express Lacrosse and PSS leagues? Looking to get some objective feedback and not a series of dualing insults from parents who think their kids' lacrosse club is superior to others. Thank you in advance.
