I can't think of worse data to use than # of college commits to evaluate a team. By that reasoning shouldn't PVI have been and remain a DMV powerhouse? Didn't last years Prep team have several commits to some high programs?

That data point alone means nothing beyond the fact that some kids have prep coaches, club coaches and parents doing a lot of PR for them. Average players commit to D1 programs several times every week these days.

PP: well said.

What I find very odd is several of these "commits" played on Prep's JV team last year. Prep's varsity last Spring was BAD - maybe the worst team they fielded in a decade.

The Dartmouth coach is a Gonzaga guy. Doesn't surprise me he is taking verbals from 15 - 16 year old kids from the DC area.

He better start winning or he will be looking for a new job in 2 years.

Madlax, BW, FCA and Crabs seem well represented so far in 2019 commits. Nothing from VLC?

A related question - any word on whether current SJC boys playing for Madlax, NL, BLC, Crabs or VLC have "defected" to BW.

Several Madlax 2020 kids have left for BW including a few at STJ.

Preps 2020 and 2019 classes are absolutely loaded.

I don't see much coming out of Wilson lane, Gonzaga, or that public school you pay for in Potomac.

Are you kidding me? Gonzaga 2019 includes two kids committed to Hopkins. Prep has some good young players (to help offset a dreadful 2017 and 2018 classes), but that program is going downhill.

Hopkins is going down hill bro. Committing there these days does not say much.

Petro continues committing kids who haven't proved anything at the varsity level.

Might explain why Hopkins has been dreadful the past 4 years for their standards.

At least the Epstein kid from Landon dominated at Landon when he was a freshman against varsity competition.

Committing to Hopkins is a big deal, their lack of top level success notwithstanding. But more importantly, if it's a school those families want to send their sons to, that's a win.

What an insufferable boob you must be. No shock you are affiliated with Prep.

Not too IAC-centric, but curious if the news I heard is true: Giblin is going to DJO to coach?

looks like it is true.

Wow GP Homers must be furious.

Hardly.

Most GP homers, who are almost all Giblin fans, are glad to see him get another chance.

There was significant alumni support for re-hiring Giblin at GP. But it didn't work out.

you are delusional if you think Prep homers are happy with the hire of Scotty Urick.

The hiring of Giblin at DJO coupled with the hiring of Trig at SJC could result in a total realignment of Catholic school lacrosse in the DMV. Coaching talent (yeah, say what you want about their personal and personality shortcomings, but can't touch them talent wise), the ability to recruit, and the ability to get players recruited, all signal a rise in both of those programs. At the expense of many others, but probably most notably Prep.

Gonzaga will be impacted. Tons of kids from NOVA make the trek in from Arlington and Vienna to Eye Steet

What is DJO?
