War with Iran

So, uh, TACO?

Dude the US can only keep combat operations going for two weeks. The Iranians are not going anywhere. After that we run out of munitions and equipment starts to wear down, parts break, etc. There is a huge backlog of parts and munitions(like 5 years) because of China’s restrictions on rare earth, industrial magnets, diamonds, etc. We used up a 1/3 of our stock defending Israel in June of 2025.

Iran is a really country with 8 million people employed by the state. Now add in over 10,000 cleric with a history going back a 1,000 years. They have faced war before.

Islam cannot do democracy.

So unless you plan on mass re-education of 90 million people, a friendly monarchy is the best bet

Can Americans “do” democracy? Which part of the American experiment is going really well right now, pp?

Is it the allegations of the president being part of a pedophile trafficking ring but doing his best to use his attorney general to cover it up?

Is it the president ignoring the constitution and installing tariffs, deploying a federal police force to round up humans in concentration camps and, occasionally, outright murder them without due process?

Is it the general dysfunction of the Congress that can’t seem to ever, ever pass a budget on time?

Or how about the revolving door between lobbying firms and Congress and the fact that lobbyists write our legislation and it almost never has anything to do with what the voting public wants?

Is it the absurd cost of healthcare? The mediocre education system? The rampant gun violence?

Like, what right do you have to judge these other countries that are MUCH OLDER than America? America has broken down after just 250 years. Persia is THOUSANDS of years old. The Islamic republic is a blip of their history, while what is happening to us now seems to be the beginning of a total breakdown.

You assume that the Iranian’s can maintain command and control functions for 2 weeks and retain any operational capability. That’s highly unlikely.

The best case for fans of the current regime is a civil war/Taliban-style insurrection. Would be terrible for the country, so we should all hope that doesn’t happen.

Reported him to the police in 2006 after decades of raping kids together.

Why would a child rapist report his buddy? Maybe trump didnt rape any kids. Why would anyone trust what Epstein says? He is mossad after all. Do you also believe trump slobbed Clinton’s knob?

The Epstein files are probably largely fictionalized and sensationalized to undermine trumps administration and bully him
Into submission vis a vis Iran

I suspect there is a large part of uncorroborated lurid stories in there, but this has nothing to do with Iran or Israel and anything international. People detest Trump, so of course they're going to jump at the chance of taking any sensationalist accusation in the files verbatim. It's too tempting.

MAGA fell for exactly the same thing during the Hunter laptop story. And Pizzagate. And all the rest of the sensationalism around all the Democrat Presidents and some of their unfortunate family members.

The smooth-brained people on both sides of the political spectrum are dividing our country because they can't stop themselves from being that stupid. They're the useful mob that comes with pitchforks for any reason, good or bad.

No one should be encouraging this. We want facts and evidence, and we want to focus on credible accusations.

Drama queen.

We’ve had 2 protesters shot and people are (rightfully) up in arms.

Iran has killed 20k in 2 months.

I’d say our democracy is thriving, relatively speaking.

We are no longer the "shining city on the hill."

There is enormous support for regime change both within Iran and among the Iranian diaspora. In Toronto alone, 350,000 people marched in support of Iranian protesters last month. And the collapse of the Iranian regime is good not just for the Middle East, but also for Europe and Ukraine. The Iranian regime has been an important ally of Russia, supplying it with Shaheed drones. It should be expected that Canada and most western and Middle Eastern allies support regime change in Iran. The death of the ayatollah and most of the Iranian leadership on the first day is pretty much being celebrated in every major capital.

Well said. It should also be noted that approximately 36,500 people have reportedly been killed by the Iranian regime since December. After more than 40 years of repression, brutality, and systemic violence, the true human cost of this regime will never be fully known. Today is a day to be celebrated.

Change is needed in Iran *AND* Trump taking action in an illegal and dangerous way for the wrong reasons.

Yes, I agree.

Normal, cautious Presidents would never have done this, because they would have sought public support (which after Iraq would never have been forthcoming) and would not have liked their odds, given US history in the middle east. It takes a truly impulsive and risk-accepting President, one who believes he is special and immune to making the usual mistakes, to make such an extremely rash decision. Without warning European allies, even - Italy's defense minister is currently in Bahrain with his family, sheltering in a parking garage with other people.

But IF Iran can install a more open-minded regime (let's not hope for a democracy) with minimal bloodshed, plus an agreement on nuclear arms, and be rewarded with a lifting of international sanctions, which will allow it to breathe economically once again... I will give credit where credit is due.

Unfortunately this has very little chance of happening.

They already did these things. Elected moderate and reformist presidents, agreed to a nuclear agreement with Obama, lifted sanctions. Maybe you should make the demands for Netanyahu to change instead. He’s allergic to the word peace.
Oslo Accords, Obama Iranian deal. He hasn’t had a wink of sleep since these Democrat president deals. He’s isolated his country from one party in the US which is not smart and we see the results with young people.

How many Americans know there are Jewish Iranians who serve in the Iranian parliament? Many Iranian Jews refused to immigrate to Israel even after Israel offered to pay them to move.

Please the Israelis have been saying for the past 35 years- Iran is weeks away from the bomb. Israel wants to make to make every country in the Middle East a failed state. Next up Turkey.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9zUG99zt3r8
^^ as old Israel and Bibi! Has been saying Iran is weeks away from a nuclear bomb since 1996!!

The Israelis are so lazy they just use the same tired old stuff they said about Iraq, Iran - weapons of mass destruction, weeks away from nuclear weapons, they fund Hezbollah/hamas, etc. Next up Turkey! They have already started it.

Oh and you will only get a more radical regime in Iran but they will be a lot smarter. They will build their nuclear bomb in Pakistan and they will not allow Israel to strike first.

Well surely trump will at least make Israel pay for it, yes? He wanted the eu to step up for their defense. What about Israel?

The Saudis had to pay to get US military technology (tech that’s not better than what Iran has from China. They grossly overpaid which is why they’re now leaning toward china).

What about Israel? Why aren’t they paying for this financially or spending on their own defense?

I don’t think they would devolve into civil war. Israel always projects civil war on all its enemies (Palestine, Iraq, Iran, Syria, Libya, Lebanon) yet it never happens. They’re not divided. Israel is the one that’s divided and close to civil war. Netanyahu was almost locked out by his own military generals and the public in 2023. Hamas helped him

The actors fighting are always foreigners/chaos agents and always funded with US cash and weapons (isil, nusra (current prez of syria and friend to the US was leading that one).
