They’ve only known LS and the parents are so dialed in to the coaches and staff that most wouldn’t risk going elsewhere and being put on the podium for rejection.

Depart for ECNL to where? Options will be VDA, Union, or Arlington. Only a few at most from each team would be good enough to make it into those teams. And some won’t want to add long commutes. Majority will stay and play GA simply because they won’t have another option and will want to stay with their teammates.
lol some already have long commutes my friend. Some girls come from md and all over. Trust if the kid wants out the parents will see to it. Now for the older girls already committed its probably irrelevant but those younger girls will head for the hills and bump the weaker talent out of their age groups.

Count on it…

Ok, then the ones who are bumped will fill the GA teams. It’s just a shuffling of the same players across the same number of teams. It’s not as big a deal as you think. All these clubs will have no problem filling their roster with paying customers whether the patch says ECNL or GA.
because you all assume you have a trapped customer base. Lol some of these girls will elect to play HS or drop all together. Some frustrated parents will call it day… some will mortgage the house
For a GA id session which will culminate to???!

Some girls elect to play HS or drop altogether every year. League changes have happened before. They will happen again. You are really over analyzing how this will change things when in reality it’ll be business as usual just like it’s always been

IF McLean and Loudoun/NVA have already decided to go GA/MLS Next 2, and have not made an announcement yet, while all the clubs , including McLean and Loudoun/NVA are signing up kids for ID sessions, then they have lost all credibility for saying they care about the kids. Not allowing the kids to have the knowledge to make an informed decision on what club’s IDs they want to participate in and what leagues those clubs are going to participate in is wrong and only good for the club, not the kids. They would have known weeks ago about whether they were accepted. The IDs are two weeks away! IF this is the case, all kids should flee these clubs for failure to let the kids make an informed decision. Kids should know what they are trying out for when they commit to try out. Anything less is a decision to lie to kids. How could you trust that club to do what is best for the kids.

whoa. you give these leagues too much credit. given the GA /MLSN announcement PLUS the MLSN applications for all the tiers…don’t you think those clubs are waiting to hear? club announcements are step 2. step 1: gotta get accepted first. i’m guessing those announcements are in the draft folder

From what have heard, acceptances came out weeks ago. The only thing missing is their announcements on whether to stay ECNL as well, or not. If they are not making the announcements it is because they don’t want to let the kids know what league they are trying out for. I don’t know their motivation for the delay on announcement, but you can bet it is to retain membership and not because it is in the kids’ best interest to know what league they are trying out for. ID season is stressful enough on kids without clubs making it worse for them whatever reason.

Acceptances for what league?

NVA hosting ID Camps and wont say if it’s ECNL or GA/MLSN…kind of telling

Yes. Kind of telling is right. They have their acceptances for GA and MLS Next. Have for weeks. Those deadlines are long past. If you check the boards there are plenty of people who have seen which clubs have been accepted. They just don’t know how this affects McLean with FVU or Loudon with NVA. But the clubs aren’t telling the kids whether they are trying out for ECNL or GA/MLS NeXT. Telling indeed. Do you really think the clubs are holding ID sessions in 2 weeks without knowing what league they are going to be in? Do you really think McLean found out before NVA? When announcements come out in days, do you think they made up their mind, the board voted on it, they changed their socials and website immediately? Or do you think the obvious answer is they knew weeks ago and haven’t said yet because it is in the clubs’ best interest not the kids?

This is nonsense. The kid can always try out and decide once they get an offer. After all the ID session can be a training session. Does not hurt the kid at all. Let them decide whatever they want to do.

Don’t you think McLean or Loudoun would be jumping to be the first in the area to announce MLSN and hold tryouts before the others? Believe me if they could announce they would. Either it’s not really official yet or MLSN is making them wait. MLSN and boys is the prize for these clubs. They will do whatever is necessary on the girls side to win the MLSN prize.

You are crazy. MLSN2 is no prize for any club. Nobody is flocking to these clubs for 2nd tier MLSN2. It’s not like it’s MLSN- that will take years for them to earn. This is not a win for these clubs- it’s their backup plan to try to stay alive. They have no other option because they have away their ECNL license so if they want to have anything g they need to do these 2nd rate leagues which are no different than ECNL RL for girls and boys.

The clubs have to coordinate their announcements with the leagues. Nothing nefarious just not ideal timing. Patience grasshopper.
