Trump says he's agreed to Fox debate while Harris sticks with ABC plan

Should have done NPR or PBS

If only there had been an independent body, like a commission, who could have developed fair rules for both parties and split the 4 debates across the different networks.

Why did the GOP refuse to work with the Commission on Presidential Debates

Because Trump was their candidate.

Would you go on this network if you were Trump? I mean, they don’t even hide it anymore.

Trump should not do it. He will do terribly and get beat on ABC and anywhere else. His advisors are wise to tell him to not show up.

Trump and Biden did enough to embarrass the country in the June debate. We don't need Trump and Harris putting on another embarrassing spectacle for the entire world, including out adversaries, to see. Why are our adversaries behaving as aggressively as they have been in recent years? They've witnessed the ongoing leadership weakness in the US since 2016 and are taking advantage of it. Let's not let Trump and Harris embolden them futher.

Our adversaries saber rattle under every administration. But it’s only under Biden-Harris that they’ve attacked in Europe, in the Middle East, and in Africa.

When you know that Trump and Netanyahu are conspiring to kill any ceasefire, and when you remember Trump’s obeisance to Putin, it seems more like a few despots going out of their way to accomplish some of their national goals while also giving the GOP a boost.

Nope. Putin invaded Ukraine because of our weak withdrawal from Kabul followed by Biden’s ham-handed comments, as usual. You don’t send mixed signals to a strong man, because they will see it as a green light.

Things don't happen in a vacuum from one administration to another.

Pompeo and Trump bypassed the Afghan government, negotiated the pull out with a hard deadline, released 5,000 Taliban fighters, closed the State Department Special Via office and stripped the US presence to the bone, and then left office without a plan and the military and the Biden Administration to clean up. That only 13 people died after a Herculean effort by our military is a miracle.

Putin had poured tens of thousands of troops into eastern Ukraine with Trump's tacit approval and nary a mention from the Administration at the time. Putin attacked at that point because Trump was out of office and he figured he could take Ukraine in a few days. He was wrong.

Nope. Countries move troops and ships around all the time. We do it and they do it. 99.9% of the time it’s theatre for domestic consumption But starting the first land war Europe since WW2 is a historic escalation. It was Hitler-Chamberlain all over. This time it was Putin-Biden/Harris. And as the last person in the room Harris gets to explain it.

This is utter BS. Putin invaded and took Donbas and Donestk without a shot fired because Trump let him. China claimed thousands of nautical miles of the South China Sea because trump let them. That isn't strength, that is colluding with the enemy for personal gain.

Thus proving that Trump is just another way point in the GOP’s race to the deepest point in the sewer. Let’s all take a moment and remember that Nixon and Reagan both worked with our enemies for the betterment of their careers and to the detriment of our service members and civil servants.

Oh my god. Of course it’s his team. Can you imagine the stress of trying to think how you’re going to explain whatever threat or bat crap crazy thing he’s muttering over the course of 90 minutes?

“Our understanding is…”
“We suspect…”

Um okay.

Trump likely didn't even realize his staff was trying to protect him in forcing this rule.

If he says he is good to go without it (which he now has) then they will proceed.

There will be no live audience, a request from Biden’s campaign to avoid giving Trump the chance to play to the crowd.

How will microphone control work during the debate?

To prevent interruptions, candidates' microphones will be muted when it isn't their turn to speak, an effort to curb Trump's tendency to interrupt.

The Biden-Trump debate had rules Biden insisted upon; Trump should not be held to any rules he negotiated with Biden.

Step up Kamala. Show us you are not afraid.

He can't debate without interrupting and a live audience? Then he should find a different job then being president.

Why won’t Kamala commit to the debate?

She has committed to the ABC debate. Why would any sane person agree to a debate on Fox?

He is scared to say all those nasty remarks about her he has made to her face.

He is also afraid of her intelligence, debate skills and being on the wrong side of all the issues.

Hillary Clinton, who by any measure is more formidable than Harris, thought the same thing. So there’s that…

And HRC was the consensus winner of most of the debates. It just didn’t win her the Presidency. Thanks Comey.

Kamala’s campaign is demanding a seated debate, with notes, for Sept. 10.

She accepted a debate on October 1 on CBS.

That's what the Trump campaign says, that they wanted a seated debate with notes, and an opening statement.

People keep forgetting that Biden gave Putin a greenlight to invade.
He said a 'minor incursion' is OK, and 'he has to do it.'

Gah! That was not clear. It's what the Trump campaign says the Harris campaign wanted.
