OP. I certainly am talking about Saundra. She had a fine opening statement where she talked about how she’s an Independent and former Democrat and we need to get politics out of schools.

Then for every question asked she just didn’t actually go into any details with her answer.

I was actually considering voting for her before I went to the forum. Now I’m most definitely not.

I also researched her more and read her extremely disappointing answers to the Special Education PTA questionnaire where she didn’t actually answer any of the questions. My kids have 504/IEPs as did I in school so I am in tune with special ed and disability issues. She seemed very rushed and not at all concerned about our community. “I’m an independent” isn’t a good enough argument for me to vote for someone. I ended up voting straight Dem because they actually have detailed policies on their websites and all answered the questionnaires with detail.

I voted for Moon, Davis, and Hussein because disrupting the dysfunctional echo chamber otherwise known as the FCPS School Board seemed like a very good idea.

My community has been lied to repeatedly by Democrats on the School Board, including in response to questionnaires completed in 2019, so forgive me for not weighting these “detailed” answers too heavily. They don’t hold themselves accountable to their past promises at all, so it’s time we did.

Please share how has the 100% Democrat FCPS School Board helped or benefited your 504 Plan/IEP kids, particularly with issues of special education and disability during the past four years. And, how consistent (or inconsistent) has that been with what the Democrat endorsed candidates filled out on the Special Education PTA questionnaire?

The Saundra Davis groupies can’t wrap their heads around the fact that “I’m not the other guy” isn’t a compelling message.

Everyone knows how this election is going to go which is a 11-1 school board of democrats, and the 1 Republican is Franconia where a judge effectively handed the seat over to a guy who will be a useless lame duck on day 1.

If that comes to pass I hope the “lame duck” is a noisy thorn in their side for four years because the arrogance of the local Democrats is through the roof. It’s just like them to boast before the election about how they’ll be able to ignore anyone who isn’t another rubber stamp for their “fake progressive” agenda.

I am so glad that my youngest has only one more year in FCPS. We all know Democrats will be elected and the status quo of focusing on "equity" and social justice will continue, while academics get short shrift. Same old, same old. If only one Republican is elected, that would be a start in disrupting the idiotic echo chamber of nuttiness that this SB has become.

And, how consistent (or inconsistent) has that been with what the Democrat endorsed candidates filled out on the Special Education PTA questionnaire?

This current school board is redesigning literacy standards to align with the science of reading. Parents of students with dyslexia has been advocating for this for years.

Yes. Most school districts still follow outdated literacy standards. FCPS is leading the way thanks to this school board.
