| What are yours doing on weekend nights? |
| None of your business. |
|
Homework, practice, video games, walking the dog, dinner conversation. |
Thanks for your input. I’m trying to figure out what’s typical without asking my friends and my son’s friends’ parents. So maybe someone else will help me out. |
Thank you. So he’s not hanging out with friends a lot on weekend evenings? Mine isn’t yet. |
| Sometimes plans like birthday parties or movies with friends but usually home playing fortnite with friends or at sports practice. There is a small group in the grade who go to coed parties, but not many. |
| He couldn't wait to get home from sports practice to play some video game he preordered months ago. It came out today. He also tried to fake sick this morning. Um, no way. |
|
They are playing basketball in the driveway or roller hockey in the street, and then eating someone out of house and home, before watching movies or playing video games and then having a sleepover.
At least, that is what my son and his friends are doing. |
PP you responded to. Well, he’s extremely introverted. |
|
Soccer three or four nights a week.
Homework on the others. |
|
Mine 8th grader is in between. Tonight he is doing nothing ---playing video games and hanging out.
Tomorrow he has a friend coming over to hang out - probably also play video games. He is just beginning to think of the ideas of having something to do. He also likes to sometimes have friends sleep over so they can play even more video games.... |

On Friday nights all through middle school and the beginning of HS, my kids would have a crew of friends over. They would come home from school and bake brownies. I’d stop for pizzas on my way home from work. They played pool and watched movies mostly.
My youngest goes to gymnastics on Friday nights. |
How long ago was the crew thing? Very recent? |
| Swimming, usually. If not swimming, eating and playing video games. Friends optional. |
Yes. Stopped last year. |
