Friday nights - baseball practice
Saturday - double headers and then gaming. Sunday - baseball practice , homework, and then gaming until bedtime. Gaming and sports is their social interaction these days. I don't know any middle schoolers around here that go and hang out at each others houses or go to movies. They all game when they're not doing sports or homework. I crack up at some of the conversations that go on while they are gaming. 4-6 kids on at one time all talking to each other. |

Soccer and watching TV or reading.
Not usually hanging out with friends. Especially Friday nights. If he’s meeting a friend, it’s usually on a weekend. |
Why both to answer? Just so you can be rude? |

Soccer M, W, F nights and a game on weekends.
If friends are free and their games don't conflict with my son's games they get together during the day for awhile to hang out. But, they don't do much in the evening because most of his friends (self included) are serious about a sport and get to bed on time to play well the next day. |
Oh--and, yes, to the person that said they will game with their friends---and I agree about the funny conversations. Our laundry room is basement level off the rec room and I will hear all kinds of funny things coming out of the speakers from their friends. A few times I thought one of their kids was down there with them. |

Call of Duty Black Ops 4... mine did too.

| my 8th grader usually has games and/or practices and then as others have said, home gaming or hanging out with his brothers. He is usually tired and often needs to be up early Sat and Sun morning. A couple times a month he will have a sleepover or one of the parents drive them to an activity. I have three boys, oldest is 15 and all three are often wiped out by the time the weekend rolls around. They are all busy so when they get a chance to just stay home and relax they take it. I find that boys are not good planners. If I feel one of them has not done anything fun for awhile, I suggest they get a group together and I drive them somewhere or offer a sleepover. My kids are very neutral about plans unless there is something specific going on-bday, concert, big game etc. |

8th grade sports, gaming, hanging at home
9th grade: girls, sports, social media, repeat |
That's it! I came downstairs last night and he was back to playing Fortnite again. He said there was a bug with the new game so he couldn't play it. |
| Thanks, everybody. Sounds like my youngish 8th grade boy is well within the bounds of normal. |
What?! Do you seriously not have experience with tween boys, or teen boys? Or freaking adult men? Brownies and pizza are.pretty much food groups to themselves. Do you mean the fact that they make the brownies themselves? My boys dont expect women to bake for them all the time. |
No group of boys gets together and bakes. |
DP, but really? My DS LOVES to bake. I hate it, so often he ends up baking with my DH and his other cousin. Plus, my BIL has a pizza oven, and they all love it. Not sure what that would be so uncommon. |
