Rice or Amatetti?(MoCo County Council)

Anonymous
Ed Amatetti and his campaign group have placed tons of signs in my neighborhood. I feel like it would be better for MoCo to have a mix of Dems/Republicans on the county council. Does he have a chance? Who are you voting for if this is your district? I think this is for North Potomac/Darnestown, Germantown, Damascus, and Clarksburg areas.

Amaretto all the way!

Yes definitely vote Amatetti. I met him and he has some great views and ideas for the county.

GOP is the party of Trump, and at this time, I just can't be complicit supporting their hate-filled policies even though one of their candidates appears moderate. Point being is even a maverick like McCain voted with Trump 80%+ of the time.

To answer your question, no, Amatetti doesn't stand a chance.

Rice. I will not vote Republican for anything until this country gets back on track.

The County Council has too much of an important role to be basing one's vote on party line. If you're cool with the direction the county is going with regards to attracting businesses and how we are educating our children, then vote for Rice, as we'll be getting pretty much the same thing. And if you are cool with how upcounty continues to be ignored, then vote for Rice. Independent here who will be voting for Amatetti. He has great ideas and I wish we had more people like him in the Council.

Insider here. Not my district but please vote for Rice. He’s one of the most intelligent and active Councilmembers. He gets it, and he cares. He digs down into the issues and holds the executive branch accountable. Trust me, many don’t.

I gotta tell you. I saw Amatetti speak in Clarksburg and I was very impressed. He was very knowledgeable about the status of our schools, the reasons for why we are where we are, and had some really great ideas for how to turn things around. He also understands that we must prioritize bringing businesses back in MOCO and what needs to be done to encourage job growth. I truly believe that he would be a valuable council member and a great representative for upcounty residents. Since you're an insider, I'm curious what Rice has brought to the table (honestly, I don't know much about him) and what he will do to help Montgomery County, especially upcounty. Appreciate your insights.

Rice is a member of the Kirwan Commission which would screw over Mont. County students. No thanks. I'm voting for Amatetti.

I can’t vote for anyone who is a member of the GOP this year. It is a party of hate right now.

In addition, there was very little specifics on how he is going to achieve these goals. What are the underperforming programs he will cut? What are these reforms that will improve the schools? Etc.

Independent here. That's just terrible logic and you are making a massive stereotype against all GOP candidates because of that fool we have up in office. I'm for anyone who is going to be looking out for Montgomery County. I could care less about their party.

Has he renounced the hate? Is he taking money from the machine that is raising money off of that hate? Without some clear indications that he isn’t part of the problem, I’m not voting for him. A “red wave” in MoCo isn’t going to solve a single problem we have here.

I didn't realize the R party is a party of hate. I would say there's a lot of hate going around right now from both sides though. Regardless, Amatetti is an upstanding guy and hasn't been involved in that hate,- he doesn't have to do crap to make anyone feel better nor should he apologize for certain people. You do you though- you have every right to vote all Dems regardless of their qualifications and their ability to do the job. I'm hoping that more people are sensible and will actually look at the individual (not party) and make an informed decision based on who is going to be on the look out for MOntgomery county. I want good schools, jobs, and improved transportation; and I'm going to make my decisions based on that- R, D, I or whatever.
