Its not healthy or delicious yet their restaurants are packed! |
Their food tastes really really gross. I don't get it either. |
I like it. I love the autumn squash soup with bagette. |
It used to be so good when it was St. Louis Bread Company.
Panera ruined it. |
No this again.
Really? Another thread about why some of us like Panera. Really? |
I like it. I enjoy the food, though lately I've found the prices to be on the high side, so I find I don't go as often as I used to. The squash soup is one of my favorites, and I like the salads and some of the sandwiches.
If you don't like it, don't go - leave more room for the rest of us ![]() |
It used to be much better. Part of its continuing appeal though is easy fast sit down dining. |
9-page thread from last year: Panera bread is gross

mac and cheese in bread |
it's one of the few fast casual places that do half soup, half sandwich or just sandwiches. many of other fast casual places are more "ethnic": mexican, Mediterranean style (cava, roti). |
Why start a thread about this? Different people like to eat at different places. Why do people get offended when people like restaurants that they don't? |
This. I have a lot of relatives who have plainer tastes and don't like ethnic food. |
I think because it’s basically Starbucks but with more food. It looks like mostly people who go with a laptop or to meet a colleague. |
Yes, that too! |
It's not THAT bad. And since everything is customizable, it's easy to make the salads healthier.
Example: DD can get a turkey and avocado sandwich and an apple, and I can get a salad w tomatoes, onion, avocado, hardboiled egg, and chicken. No side. DD has milk; I have unsweetened iced tea or water. I'm not saying it's a gourmet experience, but it's really not horrible. |
