The prosection argued for less.

that’s not correct. the prosecution recommended less based on the original plea agreement. they couldn’t change their recommendation after she held up her part of the bargain. she’s terrible and deserves every bit of the time she will serve. the cw needed her testimony.

I also thought it was unsettling how Juliana appeared to turn to stone when the judge was speaking and did not have any visible emotional reaction to the sentence. It made me wonder, maybe she is a legit psychopath after all, not just a young and stupid and selfish person who made a massive mistake and then felt like she needed to double down to preserve herself in the aftermath.

Excellent observations and summary. I kind of experienced the same thing but wouldn’t have been able to put it in words nearly as well as you have.

I also noticed that when they showed her during Joe's aunt's statement (I missed the mother's statement), she was nodding her head and looking tearful. Then of course she was crying as she read her own statement. And when the judge spoke, and she had turned stony and emotionless, the only thing I saw her do was shake her head slightly when the judge pointed out that Juliana told the child to call her "mommy". As if she disagreed, or was angry at that part? I don't know what that means from a psychological standpoint but I do feel like she was giving the court what the court wanted to hear, and then once that didn't work, she seemed to want to argue with the court about that portion, at least. It also makes me wonder if her testimony was even truthful (I AM NOT SAYING SHE AND BB DIDN'T DO IT, I AM FULLY CONVINCED THEY DID). But she seemed so good at turning on and off her emotions at this hearing, and seemed so remorseful during her statement followed by being stone cold sober immediately afterwords, I just thought, wow, this woman can act however she thinks people want her to act, can't she. She can just turn it on and off. It colored her testimony a little in my eyes- made me wonder if she had a much greater role than she admitted to or even if the entire thing were her idea to start with.

Brendan had mentioned wanting to kill CB to another affair partner. That woman testified at a hearing last year. So no, the idea originated with BB.

My heart goes out to those who loved Joe and Christine.

I hope V is reunited with Christine’s family and her loving former au pair. BB set it up so custody would not be likely to change. IMHO, the influence of Tess needs to be eradicated, she was heavily involved herself.

You could see her shaking and holding back tears when JR's mother/aunt were talking about their pain of losing him. She does feel remorse. She has morals even though she lost them and followed BB through with this horrible crime.

I do believe she hates what she did and hates herself for doing it. I think being in jail has given her insight that she didn't have when she was 22 and obsessed with BB. I also think her reaction to the judge's comments was more along the lines of agreeing that she deserves 10 yrs for partaking in the murder of 2 people.

We already know BB is going to get life in prison, but I'm sure the judge will go after him for telling horrible lies about JR and CB on the stand. At least JPM came to tell most of the truth... she is redeemable. BB is truly a sociopath -- has no regard for others.

She has no morals. It’s not just about the day of the crime. It’s the before and the aftermath that turns her into a complete piece of garbage.
Yes, she was crying. She’s away from home and will be so for the next 8 years. In jail. It’s never been about the lives she took or the little girl.
Juliana was messaging a friend, 8 days after the murder, asking her for a ride to a “funk dance party” in DC.
She was also posting on a WhatsApp group of girls dating single dads asking for advice bc she was jealous of the attention BB gave to his daughter.
She’s as bad as BB. She’s a monster.

The statements by Joe’s mother and aunt were very moving. There were disgustingly attempts to smear his name and continue to frame him even in death. May he RIP, along with Christine.

Tess was an active participant managing JPM and posting horrible and untrue things about Joe on her social media, all while living with the murderers. I hope she is charged with and convicted of obstruction for the recorder “snitches get stitches” attempt to pressure JPM to continue to lie.

To be clear, ten years for murdering one person. After he was shot by BB. That is not disputed.

Christine’s murder was not part of the charges against JMP

The texts and printshots to her friend about the party and about BB getting tips while he worked for Uber and Juliana finding it suspicious are in a YouTube video made by a Brazilian guy, someone posted here a while ago.
The thing about being jealous of his daughter, someone posted a screenshot on another au pair WhatsApp group I’m part of, when she was arrested

We can only hope she blows up even more and develops diabetes.

Agreed. I can't believe the posts above. She chose the evil side time and time again. She showed no real remorse.

Screen shots were posted by members of the group. Somewhere in the original thread (not this one).

She really looks awful! BB looks as bloated as a corpse too.

I am actually somewhat relieved. I thought she was going to get deported right away with only time served.
