| Had 1 round of IUI, and timing didn't work out for another round last month so we did timed intercourse. I'm due for blood PT on Wednesday but just took a HPT and got first positive. Am I taking it too early? Is it possible it's correct? I triggered on 26th, so I think it would be out of my system? How do I not get my hopes up? |
| If you triggered on the 26th, you are 13 dpo. The trigger should be well out of your body. I think you can feel pretty good about that being a positive test as opposed to a lingering trigger. Fingers crossed your levels keep rising. |
I agree. I was just in a very similar situation -- positive HPT (after IUI) and am waiting for blood results. I'm about a week further along than you are and was worried that I might still be testing my trigger but my hpt kept getting darker through the week. Good luck on Wednesday! |

Another positive test after an IUI here. I'm 13 dpo and this morning there was a very faint line. I tested out the ovidrel and saw true negatives over the weekend so I'm optimistic this is it!
But still waiting for the blood test on Friday before getting my hopes too high. This could be a chemical or a miscarriage waiting to happen. Chances are that of the three of us, one these will not result in a live birth. |
| Hoping for sticky beans for all! |
| I also was pregnant after 2 failed IUIs. He's now 7 years old. Congrats!!! |
| Finger and toes crossed for all! |
| Still baby stick!! That's a real positive. Fingers cross for doubling betas. Let us know! |
| Good luck everyone! OG here. Positive beta 257 today! |
| That's a great number! Congrats and wish you a happy and healthy pregnancy! |
| Oops OP haha |
OP, congrats on the positive beta! I have no idea what that number means, but sounds good!
I'm this previous poster. I was actually 11 dpo (or actually days past IUI), I just can't count. I have dozens of cheap HPT sticks and I keep testing, being comforted by that thin line getting ever so less thin. One more day for the beta test for me. And then weeks before the u/s... starting to get excited but also trying not to get ahead of myself. <3 "sticky bean." I'm going to start eating more beans and smile over that mantra. Fingers crossed it sticks and it's only 1! |
| Is everyone else going for 3 HCG blood tests? I had two good ones and I’m wondering why they would want me to go for a third. Seems excessive for an IUI. |
| We had two blood tests and then the ultrasound. |
At SGF we had three HCG tests every other day (excluding weekend) starting at 14 DPIUI. Then an ultrasound at 6.5 weeks. One possible reason for multiple blood tests is to screen for a possible ectopic pregnancy (maybe then do the ultrasound sooner rather than later). Or it could just be to make more money. SGF initially wanted me to come in for a second ultrasound at 8 weeks even though everything looked "perfect", so no real reason not to release us back to my OB. Fortunately my nurse knew my insurance would not cover the 2nd ultrasound and had me cancel it. |
