2028 Girls Lacrosse

AA has only 5 cap blue players so assume the rest are doing AS?

They clearly selected a strong group of 13–14 field players, and the starting 11 is very talented. However, as others have pointed out, when evaluators have ties to certain high schools and clubs, this what you get. As a result, some less-deserving players end up taking roster spots that could have gone girls who all just flat out better.

I will be interested to see the AS roster when it's finally posted. Notably, AA was a week later and posted first. Better managed.

Gussie/Capital won't be happy Capital players chose AA given her lead role in AS.

I doubt Gussie cares about this. She can't pick an entire AS roster of Capital players, so some naturally have to do AA or nothing at all that weekend. Having good representation at both events that weekend is probably a net positive for the club.

I think it’s a win for Capital girls to play with the Baltimore crowd in AA. D.C. lacrosse is a couple steps behind - generally speaking. Play with the best kids you can.

Saying DC is “steps behind” Baltimore is the same as saying Baltimore is “steps behind” Long Island. It’s not a matter of skill — Players from all of these areas attend the same schools. There are just more kids who play the sport in LI than Baltimore, and more kids who play the sport in Baltimore than DC.

Except Baltimore is on par with Long Island talent wise. DC is not even close to either.

Detailed stats provided on other threads show LI blows Balto out of the water talent wise.

Here are the stats that confirm this (copied from the other thread):

* NYC / LI experienced an 11% decline in T15 players from 2022 to today while Balto dropped 41% during the same timeframe.

* NYC / LI area experienced a 3% decline in T20 players from 2022 to today while Balto experienced a 32% decline during the same timeframe.

* There are 38% more NYC / LI area players on T20 teams today than Balto area players.

I don’t think there are too many head scratchers.
4 Hero’s Green
Several NOVA girls (5 cap blue and M&D)
Some from the south (which is pretty typical based on past rosters)

That makes up the majority of the roster. I am sure there are a few questionable picks, but that is to be expected with a short tryout and a lot of girls. They definitely missed a few really good girls, which is unfortunate. I think the team will be stronger than AS and AA last year but could have been stronger with a few of the girls they passed on.

How can you tell who plays for Hero’s? I only see HS listed. Regardless, I welcome Hero’s girls.

After years, you know who all these girls play for. It’s a small community. The four Hero’s girls all use to play for BLC before they all jumped ship.
