Yes girls were there who played on AS last year

Yes there was representation from at least 4 MD teams.

Like, from girls who legitimately live in the area or from girls who didn't make it in Baltimore and decided to give DC a try?

A mixture of both but many, many girls that did not make the Baltimore team and heard that it was easier to make last year. Not sure this was the case this year with some of the local talent trying out for AA instead of AS

This wasn't the case in the Baltimore tryouts- but only if the evaluators didn't think you should make the cut but you were a favorite of the AA coach

This is a lie. Also, the coaches also are not going back and watching a recording of the tryout for a second look. Weird that someone would want to spread such misinformation, but they are lying.

Then why was there a Veo on the sidelines?

Because as a parent, you could pay for the tryout film if you wanted it.

You asked why the veo was there and that is the answer. We got an email with the opportunity to buy the film from the tryout. I am sure that no one actually bought it, but that is why the camera was set up. You can call whoever you want a moron, but that is what happened.

Tryouts were filmed for purchase if players had desire to use for highlight clips. Pretty smart idea to use for recruiting in my opinion. Whoever called you a moron is the moron for speaking out of their a$$.

That's not really what I heard. I get the sense the bulk of the roster will be DC-area girls, some of whom do play on MD teams, and then a smattering of further out girls from MD and VA.

Several NOVA girls (5 cap blue and M&D)
Some from the south (which is pretty typical based on past rosters)

That makes up the majority of the roster. I am sure there are a few questionable picks, but that is to be expected with a short tryout and a lot of girls. They definitely missed a few really good girls, which is unfortunate. I think the team will be stronger than AS and AA last year but could have been stronger with a few of the girls they passed on.

Always helps when one of the evaluators is from your club. Not sure if they thought choosing an evaluator from MD would make them impartial in DC but all it did is have girls from a very low ranked club on the team

Agree with all that was stated above. Still just wondering who the AS team is comprised of if this is the case for AA.
