Help me understand the rank voting.
If I don't want one candidate to be considered at all for a seat, how do I rank them on my paper ballot? Is it better to . give the unacceptable candidate the lowest rank among the total count of candidates OR . not include the unacceptable candidate on my list (only rank the ones I can live with)? Thanks. |
Only rank the ones you can live with. If they are a no for you, don't rank them at all. |
Thanks! |
Cristinas opening was impressive because it wasn’t written by her and was the only thing she could plan in advance. She still reminds me of a high schooler running for student council. Gosh I can’t imagine her getting on the ballot. |

Right?!? And yet so many of the ACDC elite are supporting her!?! I'm worried that so many "big name" endorsements are going to carry her right on top. And she is the least qualified by a ton. What a disaster she'd be. |
Ugh there were so many ACDC boomers with Cristina stickers on last night. Drives me nuts. |
In the race for least qualified Krieger is really giving her a run for her money |
Any news of whether the Arlington Dems plan to delay or change their caucuses, currently scheduled for May? I can’t imagine a worse idea for public health than gathering hundreds of older activists in a closed space for hours in the midst of public health emergency. Seems to me like a great opportunity For ACDC to GTFO of a nonpartisan school board election! |
There's always a silver lining! |

I got a strange email from the Krieger campaign today (side note: how did he get my email?)
Subject line: "Offering Free Legal Help During the Covid Crisis" Except that he is not actually offering free legal help. It was very misleading. Instead, the email contained some general information about landlord tenant issues, which is INFORMATION, not FREE LEGAL HELP. As an attorney, shouldn't he know better? |
And people are posting it on all of the Arlington Facebook pages as “helpful information” ![]() |
Really? Trying to stay off AEM but I may have to go look for it. It may in fact be helpful information, it's just not "free legal help"! Attorneys are not supposed to provide legal advice willy nilly to the masses. Ethical rules and all. |
What the F is with the candidates this year, esp the ones who are lawyers? First there was Symone who either couldn’t understand the Hatch Act or chose to try to skirt it, and now Krieger with his “legal advice for all” nonsense. Ridiculous! |
Has anyone received a direct email or other communication from the Arlington County Democratic Committee to inform you that the caucus has moved to a mail in ballot? Spouse and I have voted in every School Board caucus for the past decade, and I know we are on the ACDC mailing list because we get door knockers and mailed candidate flyers with every election, not to mention a ton of text messages and emails during the CA race this past spring. But we haven't received anything from ACDC about this School Board caucus-- no email, phone call, or mailed flyer. We only learned about the change to mail in ballot from the Arlington Now story. |
