That's a pretty messed up thing to say. It's pretty clear that a lot of bethenny's struggles throughout her life stem from having a really messed up upbringing by unstable parents. I get her and I sympathize.

I'm not giving her a pass at all. I was just commenting that I think what the pp said about her parents not liking her was a low blow bc it was that relationship that created so many of her issues today.

I think people are interpreting you giving her a pass by your comment in bold. The PPs used the qualifiers that they don't believe her past justifies her present behavior.

I do get her and I do sympathize with the past traumas that have made her the way she is. I do not condone her being an ahole to others but I get why it's happening and I feel sorry for her that she clearly hasn't dealt with her pain. I guess when i see someone behaving the way she does, I try to unpack it instead of sinking to the level of name-calling, like others on this thread.

Has anybody wondered if this is all an act on Bethenny's part. She seems awfully smug and confident for someone who has become reviled. It just feels like she was brought in to make things dramatic and she is convinced she has. That is why there are all the fake apologies and pleas for sympathy due to her health.

But the show seems to be ruining her life. She looked genuinely distraught in the footage of her roaming around her emptied apartment. But then you realize, she wouldn't have had the apartment in the first place if it weren't for the show. Skinny Girl wouldn't have happened, Jason wouldn't have happened, maybe Brynn wouldn't have happened.

The irony is that I think this last season will negatively impact her entire business.

+1 to this and the PP above suggesting that she is playing a scripted character. But, yes...Will this hurt her image and cause her business to suffer, limiting her to reality t.v.?

I think her business will suffer. I also feel bad about her past trauma but she has had a lot of therapy and is a mother so it's time for her to grow up and take responsibility for the way she acts. She seems to relish in hurting other people and really comes across as a monster. Ramona handled it right - she expressed genuine concern for Luann. I also find it hilarious how bent out of shape Carole gets when anyone mentions age (for example how much older they are than Jules). She is so hung up about how old she is compared to her boyfriend.

I think that is the part that bothers me so much. She is smiling while she is hurting people. She really does seem to enjoy it. I would lke to think she is smirking because it is all a farce to her. But I do not think so. I think Jules is right and Bethenny is just horrible.
