A Madison win would still be an upset, however. Either way, good scheduling by Coach Counts in terms of looking for competitive games leading into playoffs.

BF dad here and we are definitely rooting for Madison. I think it will be a 3-4 goal game. But I do think Potomac will win but Madison is on their A game could pull it off

Agree with this. I believe Potomac has more firepower (even in a down year) assuming both full lineups are healthy and playing.

Great game. 11-10 Potomac. Came down to the last minute. Madison was up by 2 goals at multiple points. Potomac FSU commit took over at the end on attack and G'Town on the circle. Madison looked sound on both attack and D. Will be tough in the playoffs.

Madison will destroy Battlefield if they play again in the playoffs!

Robo 16 SoCo 3 (wasn’t as close as score as SoCo had 1 goal for most of game)

Woodson 11 W Springfield 8 (Woodson in control whole game, WS scored 4 in the final 5 minutes to make it look respectable)

Westpo 11 Fairfax 7 (solid effort by the Wolverines).

Also had Lake Braddock 10 vs AC 9. Should be a good match up of Woodson vs Lake Braddock Fri night

South Lakes 13 vs W&L 9 (Will WL win a game this season?). Mclean took Falls church to the woodshed with a 13-4 win

Coaching, good goalie play, and the girls playing within themselves has been key for us. They keep building. Was expecting this to be a tough game last night, but the Cavs jumped out to a 4-0 lead, had a 7-2 edge at the half and it was 10-4 and cruising midway through the 4th quarter when WS got a few late. After hearing about all of their commits this offseason, thought the Westies would be more of a challenge. Doesn't seem like the girls are developing under the post-Puhlick coaching staff there. Good for us, bad for them I guess...

Woodson already matched last season's 8-win total. Definitely a big improvement. Were the late goals against the Woodson starters or mostly second string? If starters, then it was a relatively tight game at the end. If last 4 goals by WS were their starters against Woodson subs, then a comfortable win.

Well it will probably be in state championship because that’s where they will meet.

Woodson's schedule is much easier this year than last year. They didn't schedule games with Madison, Yorktown or Battlefield. Oakton and Robinson are the only teams in the top 10 that they have scheduled and they haven't played them yet. The first test will be Oakton on Saturday.

What’s the deal with US Lacrosse Mag not having a single VA team in the girls public school top 25 nationally?

Madison and Robo both ranked on the boys side.

For what it’s worth. It was a scrimmage but Lightridge destroyed Woodson. It was 10-0 after the first quarter.

For those of you that have been around for a few years, how accurate is LaxNumbers rankings at this point in the season? Have you seen teams come out of the top 10 (in late April) and perform well in the state playoffs...or do eventual state contenders usually come from the very top of the rankings?
