There are memoirs where the author confesses to much much worse. Stealing, rape, assault. It's all very common in the genre.

Show me an addict with a memoir about his drug use that showed purchase of a weapon at the same time who didn’t get charged.

Tarek El Moussa, the guy from HGTV. His memoir talks about his addiction to steroids and how he bought a gun.

He was battling testicular and thyroid cancer and was taking testosterone shots. We should send a swat team to his house right now and get that b@stard.
