GA is not as good as ECNL but stop with this silliness of ECNL-R being a top league in any way shape or form. As ECNL and GA both continue to expand it is simply a race to the bottom.

I disagree. The mid Atlantic ecnl-r teams would do well in the GAL mid Atlantic.

Well arlington was average to above average in GA but you think their 2nd team would do well in Ga? Does not make sense unless you think there is little difference between their teams?

Arlington was well above average in most age groups. Their second teams would likely be below average, but still be in line with the competition. That's probably about where they will finish in ECNL-RL also.

ECNL-RL may be a bit more top heavy in most age groups, but its the best league at U11 and U12 and starting at U13 there are probably 6 teams at most age groups that can hang with anyone in GA. Plenty of those clubs could have joined GA but didn't want to because of the travel schedule and not much better competition.

No. I think ecnl-r teams would do well in the GAL. Nothing about 2nd teams

You people are missing the point of ECNL-r. It doesn’t matter which league has better teams. They serve different purposes. ECNL and GAL are national leagues for players interested in getting maximum college exposure, showcases, etc. ECNL-r players are generally done playing after high school. Just because a player is in ECNL-R doesn’t mean they are inferior. Just that they are not likely to play in college.

I’m just saying that the GAL clubs are weak and on the same level as ECNL-R clubs. GAL may be a national league but everyone knows how weak most of the clubs are in GAL. The local ECNL-R clubs are just as good or better than most GAL clubs. Top ECNL-R girls will be recruited at the same level as GAL players. Don’t be naive to thinking this is a pathway to ECNL for FCV, which frankly these days is a glorified CCL club looking for a way to transition to Springfield

I'm glad you are happy to be in ECNL's B league. Your kids path to UNC is paved with gold.

Keep on slurping that rosé, smug.

totally agree! A competitive player in CCL, EDP, ECNL-R, etc. can try to walk on or play club leagues in college. Club teams are often more social, less demanding, and equally fulfilling as the full NCAA career. Depending on the University/College, Club teams travel, have access to University vans, get food/hotel stipends, and logistical support of the Athletic Department.

Maybe this has to do with the Evergreen thread. FCV will need to find field space soon and partnering theoretically, can provide this. Curious how many current FCV families will travel to Annandale for practices

^^^They probably would if the club was full ECNL. This might be in the grand master plan for the St. James-local fields and ultimate admittance to ECNL through VIVA, replacing BRYC, which is struggling across all age groups in both genders.

Look for FCV players to show up at VIVA games this fall and that will be a clue…

They will not get in ECNL and ECNL-R is not ECNL.

Wow, you really believe your team is ECNL. I just don’t know what to say.

No it was a mixed bag for Arlington in GA. Same for their second teams in the CCL. Those second teams would have struggled in the GA. Second teams lack the 2-4 top players that make a difference in games. Some of the CCL teams did beat Arlington’s GA teams. Arlington because of their large pool of players always does well in the u littles(u9-u12/u13) but the u littles really do not matter. You have to develop and recruit player in the ECNL.

ECNL will be a big step up not so much in this area(ie play the same old clubs) but when you play outside this area.

ECNL R is the “proving ground” for becoming full ECNL. Listen to the town hall. They want as many teams as possible under their umbrella for the 💰

You are pointing out a discussion that is over a year old?

Is TopHat in ECNL now?

That 07 team that was just “running to ECNL” is still ranked 7th in the Nation.

FCV can’t even touch TopHat in quality or player pool and yet TopHat still isn’t in ECNL.
