Don’t forget that part of that delay was because Gayles included ridiculous requirements in the county executive order that allowed playgrounds to reopen. And then wouldn’t meet with or respond to emails from Montgomery Parks for a week, at which point he finally told them to ignore the order. So much of what he’s been doing was just for show. He’s been acting as a politician the whole time. This appears to have been his career plan all along. He didn’t even practice as a pediatrician for three years. |
lol. Reminds me of when he talked about going to the gym as kept schools closed. Or when he talked about his plan to travel out-of-state to see family over Thanksgiving as he told others to avoid travel and gatherings. |
Your post is filled with a tremendous amount of inaccuracies, aside from the personal assumptions here (which are incorrect). There were questions about surface transmission originally, but for everyone crying he was science based--he did not quickly follow the science once this was debunked. Also, for the record, he did "try to shut down private schools who were trying to follow cdc guidelines." Bless your heart, pp. |
This. His appearance on 60 Minutes solidified that for me. He has plans to be in politics is my guess. He was not qualified to be in his current position. |
+1 They were closed until the end of the summer. With fencing. |
Kind of. Though, they actually like to hamstring other people’s kids. The wokest people in my neighborhood sent their kids to private as soon as it looked like schools would stay closed. Of course, they want their OWN kids to benefit from their privilege. |

Six pages in and I can’t believe all the posts whining about playgrounds. From over a year ago. Seriously. Playgrounds.
The public health of the county, and the nation, rested on local public health officials and the Karens here are STILL screeching about…playgrounds. |
| Gayles made up his own rules that had nothing to do with science. His personal judgment negatively impacted a lot of people. Glad to see him go. |
But he didn’t do that as much as make anxiety control driven decisions that negatively impacted peoples lives unnecessarily. Sorry your delicate sensitivities are hurt by calling out Gayles in over his head and a disastrous leader. And using the racist and misogynistic term Karen is very telling about who you are. |
He wasn't cautious at all. He let the virus loose in the county. He was told directly that MCPS teachers were directly exposed to the first COVID positive person in the county and he let all those teachers stay in their schools the last week schools were open. |

The word is exacerbate. Guess they didn’t teach you that in your non-woke private school. |
Guess what? Daycares are regulated and have to adhere to many standard requirements that k-12 private schools do not. So your home daycare theoretically had oversight mechanisms in place that private schools did not have. |
Yep. Look no further than the former MCPS BOE member who tried to usher in busing the year AFTER her last kid left for college. "Hey, now that my kids are safely out of MCPS, let's institute busing." |
He also failed to step up inspections of elder care facilities before the outbreak but after it was clear that there was a deadly respiratory virus that was particularly dangerous to old people. That resulted in more disease and more death. Unforgivable. |
