OP here but do you get that every scientific expert I’ve asked aka the docs in my OB practice and I guess I’ll ask my MFM have just said we don’t know what long term effects are but look at these great short term effects. So, no, no one has offered me any assurances as in “you’re fine” like you all have said about the nipt and 20 week ultrasound that the organs are formed, the vaccine components won’t affect organ development further down or have any implication for any neurological or other issues for baby that will grow up. I know “artful” doging when I see it, if your OBs told you something better tell me!

To the PP, yes when shit hits the fan I guess you’re right I wouldn’t refuse that treatment because it’s inevitable, but getting covid is …avoidable? Or at least in my mind and my current situation.

I really hope you are a troll. Because your decision making and thinking is certainly not that of a responsible parent.

Her brother confirmed in another article she was not vaccinated. Her husband was, so it’s not like they were rabid antivaxxers, she was like OP and opted to not get the vaccine because she was pregnant. She also had a high exposure job as a hotel manager.

Listen OP, I say this gently, inaction (doing nothing) is not a zero-risk game. Sorry, Covid happened, it is out there. You live with that risk at this very moment. Choose wisely.

Parenting is going to be a nightmare for you. There is no way to avoid all risk and uncertainty in life, and you are assigning far too much weight to unknown risks and not enough to known risks. Why on earth would organ development be affected down the road? There is literally no reason to worry about that. You are just inventing things to worry about. FWIW, I got moderna shots when I was 8 and 12 weeks pregnant, and I'm now 26 weeks pregnant and the baby looks fine.

Yeah I’m sure

Op, please ignore the ignorant women in this thread. I am also pregnant and have absolutely zero plan on getting the vaccine while pregnant. My RE was fine with this while TTC and my now OB understands my decision.

Ignorant? Of what FACTS are we ignorant of? People like you make me sick and don't deserve to be members of our society much less parents.

Amen to this. My baby was born before vaccines were available, too. I would have jumped at the opportunity to pass along some antibodies.

OP, if you wait assuming delta will be gone by December, you're probably correct in the assumption that it will...but what about the next variant? This isn't going away any time soon.

This is devastating. OP, you literally can prevent this outcome by getting vaccinated. Why would you take a chance?

If OP isn’t concerned about her child why should anyone else be?
