They don't like to be public with major decisions until after they have already reached a conclusion or signed a contract.

THEN, once the contract is signed or the outcome is already decided, theh bring the controversial topics to the public school board meetings, and do some sort of dog and pony show to cover their tracks.

Just look at the 4 year, multi million dollar Critical Race Theory contracts that fcps signed back in March. This huge multi year contract with a non profit that supposedly has posted a loss for the last couple of years (perhaps in violation of fcps policy) was already signed and in its initial phases when that sham of a parent input survey was sent out this past week.

So be sure to expect the same with any decisions about eliminating advanced math or anything else controversial. If they do it, decisions will be made behind closed doors and contracts will be signed secretly, then there will be some loaded survey crafted to get the response gatehouse wants.

Follow the paper trail from the CRT survey backwards and you will get your answers on how this school board operates.

Having zero opposition, dissent, moderates or opposing opinions is a horrible way to run a school district.

Minor correction. Should be "non profit"... The words non profit seem to imply "not for profit" but they are anything but. This applies to the majority of them - Colleges, Hospitals, Charities, Health care service providers - They are private orgs that masquerade as a "not for profit", pay zero taxes, and only enrich their management.

We can’t recall the entire board. Better to lobby for more certainty on AAP and to focus on the SB members who have clearly shown they need yanked.

Loudoun hasn’t really made changes. They are just saying the plan is “tentative” and they will update when VDOE does. Don’t be fooled.

Treat all students equally, without regard to race, and then design a system to get the most out of each student. It’s not complicated ... except for the political hacks on the FCPS school board.

Well its politically incorrect to state that a student's parents/guardians and homelife have a significant effect on outcomes, and that can't be overcome by changes to the education system. Because, they've tried and failed over and over again. So better to reduce the appearance of the achievement gap rather than just admit this.
