I've seen a handful of yard signs for him in Beverly Hills and Braddock Heights. Wonder if they'll be treated like the Trump signs were.

NP here. I would not vote for this guy either and I am sure his privilege of being white and being the son of a former Congressman helps him. I cannot imagine if he were a POC people would ever give him a thought. Regardless, even if he is a changed man and says he has gone to therapy and has turned his life around, sure that's great to get one more woman beater off the street but it does not qualify him to earn my vote to represent Alexandria in City Council. I am all for rehabilitation of violent offenders, but that has no bearing on whether that makes him suitable to serve in public office. Great that he's married with a kid, I sure hope for them he has changed. But it's a hard no for me that I would ever vote for someone that beat up a woman. Period.

NP here, I get what PP is saying. If Patrick Moran wasn't white and the son of former Rep. Jim Moran, with Patrick's criminal record there is no way people would even consider him. Not a chance, and if he were a POC his pleading guilty to beating up his girlfriend would have been a nonstarter. Don't fool yourself and treat me like I'm stupid to believe it wouldn't have been.

For such a "woke" place like Alexandria, with its equity this and a million BLM and Hate has No Home here signs, I find it incredibly hypocritical that not only Patrick Moran would have the audacity to run, but that anyone would even consider him. Alexandrians can't have it both ways.

Someone linked the police report. The incident was witnessed by a police officer so his eye witness account is included in the police report. People really taking the struggle bus to admit he's not fit to serve.
