Alexandria City Council - who are you supporting?

I won't be voting for Jackson because she used our preschool class list for political spamming when she first ran a couple of years ago, which I thought was really inappropriate.

The chicken slaughter house is happening. Why are you still crying?

I love when the nimby's call it "slaughterhouse" to make it sound more dangerous. The xenophobia is phenomenal in Alexandria.

I love when people ASSume stuff about strangers, like someone's a nimby when they're not. I guess I'll play along too, those are some big words for a millennials living in their parents basement. And "xenophobia" some how having to do with the treatment of animals. It will be a slaughterhouse but you want ME to coddle you and re-name is so you feel safer lol. NOPE. Not happening. This is what they do slaughter chickens they slit they're throats=that is slaughtering.

What else would you like it to be called? They don't rock the chicken to sleep thus that's a slaughterhouse by exact definition: slaughter
[ˈslôdər]
VERB
slaughtering (present participle)
kill (animals) for food.
synonyms:
kill · butcher
kill (people or animals) in a cruel or violent way, typically in large numbers

What is wrong with this exact definition from the dictionary? You don't like the truth? The truth hurts?

It's a butcher shop. When it's the Muslims though, you need a scarier term like "slaughterhouse." Alexandria often claims to be progressive and inclusive, but there's still an alarming amount of xenophobia, and I say that as a liberal Muslim city resident.

Funny how often the animal rights activists target grocery stores that sell factory farmed meat. Or meat vendors at our local farmer's market.

Oh wait... nevermind.

I means seriously, there is zero reason to object to this.

How's that??? We are all providing a sewerage subsidy to the Slaughterhouse, as a result of the City’s revisions to the Fat/Oil/Grease ordinance that governs certain uses of the sewerage assets.

Small? Please continue to underestimate the Integrity group. Its impact on the upcoming election will be anything but small.

I hope so! So what's the feeling? Annetta Catchings or Allison Silberberg?

Catchings, while she may be a nice person, has only lived in Alexandria for 6 months. It's a lost cause.

+1000

And she hasn't even lived in the city during a normal time, let alone one full year. It's not about party - it's insanity to vote for Catchings.

It's ridiculous that she's the best the Republican Party could come up with and they couldn't even find someone who really lives here. It seems like she's being used as a pawn. There is no way she can win.

My guess is she has other aspirations in the area, and this was a way for her to get her name out there, without having to worry about any responsibility or chance of winning.

Moran, the son of former Rep. Moran, was arrested for violently slamming his girlfriend's head into a trash can and beating her up, on film, outside a bar in DC. He plead guilty.

Voting for Patrick Moran is like voting for Chris Brown. I cannot believe he is even considering running. He is a woman beater. It's fact.

My point is you can't respect MLK but denounce Moran.
