The Health Department in Montgomery County has lost ALL credibility after this past year. Did this come from Dr. Gayles? |
You are just jealous as the Wheaton kids will have more fun than the Potomac kids. This isn't about equity, its about safety. Maybe your rich PTSA should help some of the poor Wheaton PTSA's and make things equal. You could donate a few hundred to each PTSA. |
Ahh. The asking for a handout speech for equity sake. Original. |
Finally, a voice of reason, thank you. But please check whether some parent prom group at your school is organizing something. |
Sorry, the MoCo health department has WON credibility for mentioning the obvious. It is not banning private proms, it is merely reminding us, what we should already know, that such gatherings, unless outside and supervised, WILL spread Covid. |
Our kids have been asked to sacrifice so much already. For the ‘health of America’. |
My kid and his close friend group will all be fully vaxxed (and 2 weeks after) before senior's last day of school. |
+1. Last year they were basically tossed out the door on March 13 and their stuff was thrown on the sidewalk in June. No graduation no nothing. And they all survived. |
No, most really have not sacrificed that much. |
Yes the covid numbers in MoCo are atrocious compared to the rest of Maryland .... oh wait. It is the opposite. Never mind. |
Uhhh... those freedoms were here in America before you were. You leave if you don't want a country to live up to both its professed and Constitutional promises. There are plenty of countries around the world that are more than happy to restrict your rights. Ours was unique. |
We'll gladly take hand outs. If you want to be able to do things and it fall within the guidelines of equity the simple solution is to help others out. Wait, that means you'd have to be part of the solution and community and all you care about is yourself. |
The point is that it's not the wealthier schools sponsoring a prom. Also, there's no such thing as a "parent-sponsored prom", in my opinion. If it's not a school-sponsored event, then it's not a prom, it's just a party with formalwear. |
Who really cares? Funny thing is its the same parents who are complaining about school not in person and pretending lots of damage has been done via online learning. They are raising spoiled, entitled kids who are taught only to think about themselves. We are in a health pandemic. These things are what is fueling COVID right now. |
Acting in a socially responsible manner is never a bad thing. Our numbers are down because of the limited action our government took. Our numbers could be under control if people behaved responsibly or our government actually took control like they did in other countries. |
