Ain't getting into any damn one of those schools with a WEIGHTED 3.5. |
Did that make you feel better PP? |
[url]https://ctcl.org/category/college-profiles/ Any mention of these schools on DCUM brings the rabid criticizers out of the woodwork. There are many wonderful schools on this list; I'm not sure why so many DCUMer's love to hate them. It's also amusing that these same people will sometimes criticize CTCL schools while recommending schools like Bard or Denison or Wooster (that are, wait for it, CTCL schools). |
I admit that I have not read the "Colleges That Change Lives" book. However, some of the "Colleges That Change Lives" schools are expensive and can adversely change lives by causing a ton of debt, if students are borrowing a lot of money to attend and not receiving a lot of aid, merit or otherwise. Yes, this is true whether it's a CTCL school or not; however, look at ROI. |
| The CTCL schools tend to give large merit scholarships |
| It REALLY depends on the high school you are coming from. |

Thank you for sharing! Where are they leaning? |
So sad. A kid from MA is not getting anywhere close to UMASS with a 3.6w unless they are majoring in underwater basket weaving. They are using the OOS kids for the tuition and screwing the in staters. Sucks all around. |
Back when a couple of my buddies went there UMASS just required a pulse and the ability to pull student loans. |
It’s between CNU and UNCC. We are going to take a weekend and go walk around both campuses again. |
Please don’t feed the trolls. |
Look forward to hearing your impressions of both. What majors is your child considering? |
Congrats - my Jr. has just a little lower stats and has a very similar list. Crossing fingers! |
