This explains the rather robust ECNL campaign on these boards that is suspected to be Richmond based. GA is trash until their clubs join ECNL.

Nah, nobody said GA doesn't have elite players. The difference between most of these leagues is depth. There is more depth, on average, in ECNL. You'll notice that ECNL only considers the competitive GA teams for expansion.

That is true and thank you. I'd like to say that I think a poster said it best previously with "now that dust is settling". Talented girls almost always gravitate to ECNL. VDA will get stronger as MW continues to build their program.
BRYC will get stronger simply because where they sit. They can pick off players from SYC, Alexandria, Vienna, possibly even the cream of Arlington (unless Arlington gets ECNL)

Arlington is the only GAL team that will come out as 'non impacted' next year.
Metro will really suffer.
FCV, as stated above, likely to be hurt.

Best players will keep feeding into their nearest ECNL, GAL teams. If DD is talented AND serious about soccer, U13, U14 should be last years 'playing with friends'. They'll make friends on new teams, and they'll be playing better soccer. U15, U16, U17 is harder to break into a roster but the really good players will do so.

The talent pool of the GA isn't even close to ECNL nationwide. In every year 2007 and up, ECNL clubs outnumber GA Clubs in the top 100 rankings by a ratio of almost 4:1. Only 4 GA teams are ranked in the top 5 across 6 years of age groups (2007-2002) as compared 23 ECNL teams. It actually only gets worse from there comparing the two leagues.

Sure, there might be more teams but the quality of competition one could argue is just as much outnumbered at a pace of 4:1. These are statistical facts. The question I ask you is, do you want your DD playing against the best or are you happy just hoping to get into GA Champions League and get top notch competition there.

Regardless, FCV is a highly respected club however, it's competition is not. Nobody is going to say, hey look at this quality win over PA Classics, Sporting Delaware, Metro United, Philly Ukranian, or Cedar Stars, yet alone the other teams. It's just facts.

In the end, the player recruits the coach first, and then the coach the player followed by other nuances. So one could say it doesn't matter but remember this, the coach will see the competition as DD plays against them as well. That coach will see a difference between the skill levels of ECNL vs GA too. It's no different than that kid from Instagram posting highlights against horrible competition, and you say to yourself, why are they posting highlights against Alexandria White?!?!?
