I will remind you, as Chait is being reminded on Twitter, THAT DISNEY HAS FIRED MULTIPLE NON-CONSERVATIVES FOR POSTING CONTROVERSIAL OPINIONS ON SOCIAL MEDIA. This isn’t about her being conservative. No one is tolerating spreading false information about the pandemic. And there’s nothing “conservative” about that, anyway.

This piece is, in the most generous reading, extremely disingenuous. It doesn’t remotely reflect the content of her social media posts over the last 5-6 months. If I hadn’t followed this story and ONLY read this article then I, too, would think Carano got a raw deal. But this article doesn’t remotely reflect the facts of the situation. In a word, it’s garbage.

Brienne of Tarth (Gwendoline Christie) is already in the Star Wars universe. She was in Force Awakens and The Last Jedi.

And I will add all of these people sign contracts. Read them people they all have clauses. You negotiate your contract. Don't like the clause don't sign.

Or Terms of Service on Social media, don't like the rules don't use.

This is not "cancel Culture" it's accountability. Or just a plain old contractual thought process. You sign it you own it.

IMO this was long overdue... she was mocking people who were transgender at the same time her costar's sister was coming out as transgender. Who does that? A terrible person, that's who.

She has been saying problematic stuff for a while now... the last post with the Nazi stuff was the last straw.

As far as the show goes, by season 2 she was basically a sidekick. There are plenty other threads they can follow in season 3 that don't include her... the cast was getting a little bloated as it was. And frankly, she was not a good actor, anyway. She really won't be missed at all.

She was making a bunch of anti-trans comments right at the same time that Pedro Pascal's sister had come out as trans. She wasn't directing her comments specifically at Pedro's sister. Mocking people who are transgender is never okay, but it seems particularly gross when her coworker had a family member who was transitioning.

Mocking how? Did she specifically say offensive things against trans people? I heard she disagreed with the use of pronouns for anyone, but I’m not sure if that’s true ...
