What a dumb retort. Teachers aren't created and/or execute their job equally. This type of generalization is idiotic. |
I love how this question was completely ignored. Which private schools are taking students with moderate to severe special needs right now? Also - which private schools are taking students who punch, kick, slap, and spit in the faces of teachers?? |
I’m the pp. I assure you it’s all 100% true. The principal did not seem even a little surprised by what I told him. I think he doesn’t care because it’s not a core class, or it’s hard to find someone to teach the class, or he just can’t be bothered or whatever. |
I AM a teacher. I don’t defend bad teachers. Sadly there are some. And no, usually your observations are announced so you can give them lesson plan and materials and schedule a formal review afterward. Quit talking about stuff you don’t know. |
The announce one. The second one is unannounced. There are bad teachers. But if they’re there still blame the principal. Seems like you’re the one who is clueless. |
I'm the pp whose daughter has the bad teacher. I DO blame the principal. But I also blame the teacher. The principal taking no action does not absolve the teacher of his many many faults, the worst of which is laziness. |
And? We've gone from all teachers walk on water to blame the principal. |
There are regular private schools that sometimes take students with very, very mild SN and then there are "private" schools only for kids with special needs so severe that they can't be educated in a public school setting. If the school system agreed to pay, we are talking about a kid in the second category. Almost always, these "private" schools are funded completely by school districts, and they are absolutely terrible. |
^^Some of these so-called private schools are open for in person learning. |
Incorrect, in our case the IEP specifically states it requires in person learning and we have mild issues. So the school has failed and we are being told that they would rather pay then go through the courts. |
FYI we have been told this but haven't gotten as far as the OP on this. |
I call BS on OP. LCPS and most school systems have a confidentially clause in their settlement agreements. I don’t think OP would jeopardize their child’s education by posting about it (multiple times!) on DCUM. LCPS has very few settlements and you have provided enough details for them to guess who you are. |
