My point is that people are seeing one example (Eduardo Rodriguez) and running for their bunkers. Again, if covid is causing permanent heart damage, why aren’t we seeing the collapse of professional sports? From the article: There were single-digit cases of myocarditis at MGH amongst thousands of athletes who tested positive for COVID-19, said Dr. Aaron Baggish, director of the cardiovascular performance program at MGH and author of the new findings. https://www.bostonherald.com/2020/11/01/new-research-at-mgh-reveals-rarity-of-red-sox-lhp-eduardo-rodriguezs-covid-19-complications/ |
... did YOU? “Spare me your one example of the Red Sox player...”” |
Well, I don't know what people in general are doing. DCUM is just a small non representative sample of the real world. The initial case of myocarditis in an athlete was in fact alarming, but fortunately subsequent observations showed it was quite rare. Separately, in older, less healthy people, there is more myocarditis than expected, though the rate is still pretty low. Put this together, and I can be happy that young healthy athletes don't have to worry, while still limiting my own activities because I am not 20 years old. |
Maybe they tested false positive to begin with? |
