Pete will be Secretary of State or UN Ambassador. He’s overly qualified to be Joe Biden’s press person or calendar boy. He speaks several languages, and he has military service.

Good idea. He is great and has a great future, but he doesn't have the experience for the big jobs people think he should have.

Klobuchar is pretty moderate.

I don't think including moderate Republicans does much for Biden. The GOP is not currently moderate at all - those people left - Evan McMullin, Jeff Flake, Will Hurd. If Biden would like to include them in an advisory type capacity, fine, but as part of the Cabinet - no.

I see United States Trade Rep for the first four years, then Secretary of State in the next administration. USTR is the perfect position for him, given his language and negotiation skills. It will also be an opportunity to build his resume with real foreign policy experience. I love Buttigieg but he is in no way qualified for Secretary of State at the moment.

Gretchen Whitmer would never leave being governor of an important state to serve in cabinet - she will likely be in the VP stakes in 2024. Duggan would be great even though he failed to turn out Detroit.

I agree he would make a good press secretary but does he really want to be an attack dog against the conservative press and that's it? I feel that it's not prestigious/political/impactful enough of a position for him to just be a talking head...

The mainstream media is constantly parroting right wing talking points. I think he could help reshape that. The American public deserves to actually hear what the Democrats say. I think Pete could do that much more capably than many others. DP.

Or WH Communications Director. A step above Press Sec, but still allows him to get necessary experience.

There's a whole lot of establishment figures in there. And I know we shouldn't do diversity for the sake of it, but it's not the most diverse crowd of people.

I count 5/6 POC. What would be an appropriate number? Of course establishment, tends to correlate to experience and competence.

I don't dislike anyone on this list but I agree with PP I'd like a more forward-thinking choice for Sec Ag, if there are any good candidates.

Whitmer doesn't want to be in Michigan. She wants out ASAP. Her posture over the last 12 months made that very obvious.

Not true. But she came this close to VP in 2020, will definitely be in the mix in 2024 or 2028.

Half of the suggestions are diverse, half are women. My money is on Flournoy and Yates for pretty sure bets. Mayor Peter and Keisha Lance Bottoms too, just not sure in which roles. I like him for UN ambassador, maybe KLB for HUD or Transportation.
