there is some talent on the Bridge teams but the Academy wants nothing to do with them so they are left to flounder with no support. |
It would be nice if the club showed a remote interest in the bridge teams and developing talent on those teams as well. Makes no sense to me why they haven't integrated those teams into the club. SYC does a much better job developing the younger kids and is the same commute for us. |
1) Someone that has player at rival club 2) Someone that had player leave club 3) Someone that had player tryout and not make club Sadly, that's the deal with the most of these threads. Start one calling for club to pull out of its league or complain about its results. Do they think that they are going to influence anything or are they looking for opinions to validate theirs? |
I agree that there are crazy parents from other clubs who post just to troll around. There are also disgruntled parents whose kids left the club or parents who are upset on how their kid is being played. It really doesn't matter, these coaches are professional and they see things that parents do not. The program is in a better place than it was. This is a rebuilding year with Tyler and he is well regarded by majority of parents so that is that. Many kids are getting chances to play and of course that affects the wins but I am glad more kids are getting a chance. More than last year. I always think when I hear current parents complain that they are free to find another club. There are many good places to play, no need to stay if you are unhappy. |
I have no dog in this fight, but yep. |
BRYC is no different than other clubs. It is in it for the money and has not changed tactics as other clubs have expanded. They should do more with the bridge teams but coaches like BN can’t handle that there is talent in places that he doesn’t control. |

Participation trophy mentality that won't fly |
It’s difficult when the bridge teams are paying half of what the academy teams are paying. Remember it is still a business. It would make more sense if the bridge teams were to form their own travel club. We know that isn’t financially prudent at this point. Both sectors kind of near each other right now. It’s a win -win for both sides right now. The hope is the bridge teams get some exposure under the academy umbrella to both show the academy their talent level and maybe make the move from bridge and also keeps the Bryc elite side have a bigger club presence. I personally don’t think this model will work out . I think it just buys them more time to hope some breakout team or teams come to light. The problem I see is that they don’t do a good enough job developing their B and C team players and get stuck with the same A teams that max out their potential way too early. They really should do a better job integrating their player pool more in games not just training. This mistake is starting to now show up in their Ecnl teams who’s are struggling and appear to have maxed out at the u12-u13 age. |
Not every club is going to deliver u18/19 teams with a dozen or more DI commits. We need to be realistic. Some clubs are strong but most are competitive and a few struggle to compete. In NOVA, where you have seven teams that play in elite leagues, it should be a surprise that you have a MU or BRYC. If both of those clubs left their respective conferences, another club would replace them as the weakest club.

It is such an odd model compared to other clubs. They have access to a player pool that they just don't bother to develop. Then when the kids hit u13 and need more good players, they complain there aren't enough. Maybe you should have spent the last 4 years developing the players you had access to. |
Who implemented the model and why? These people get paid 150,000 to run this show...they should be held accountable |
Who, specifically, at BRYC gets paid $150k? |
Parents do not see the value of this academy. Why paying $2000 and kids could have similar team competition level as nearby BAC which only about half price per year.
People do not buy this. So the club does not have enough teams/players in the pool. |
PP is just making things up. No one on BRYC girls side is paid that amount. |
