So is it fair to assume the players on the NCSL Composite Team are primarily those not on the ECNL rosters, with a few exceptions for weekly changes? If so, isn't this just showing the weakness of NCSL/the gap between NCSL and ECNL if the "2nd" team at BRYC can be at the top of the NCSL while everyone is shaming the "top" team for having poor ECNL results?

Yes. People whose daughters haven’t played ECNL/GA or watched those games don’t understand how much higher-level the soccer is. BRYC’s U16 or U17 ECNL teams could probably beat most high school soccer teams around here despite not having won an ECNL game this season.

Agreed. There are large gaps between NCSL and CCL, and again between CCL and ECNL/GA.

Not true at all, Every team is different. There are some NCSL teams that would beat lo local ECNL teams 9 out of 10 games easily. NCSL and CCL are club decisions based on business partnerships and marketing. ECNL give your team more exposure and travel but by no means does that make them better teams at all. I wish we could do a DMV open cup for every age u9 thru u19 both boys and girls. The results would put the whole elite thing in a different light. Higher profile clubs and parents would highly be against this. The fear of exposure and having to see themselves for what they really are is not worth it to them.

Then ask your coach to sign your team in the tournament to play against the ECNL team. Why they don’t do it? Because your team will be killed and you’ll be disappointed. That one or two kids are at the level doesn’t mean the whole team can play a fast pace of play.

Yawn......

No matter how diluted the league parents still think that what they are seeing on the field is elite soccer. With 4 ECNL clubs in NOVA alone there are 40 kids playing in ECNL who would never have sniffed a ECNL roster 5 years ago.Adding more teams did not make more players actually Elite.

If we actually just had one Ecnl team instead of 4 and they drew the top talent we would good. The player pool is so large in this area and too many parents are afraid to hear their child isn't "elite". This waters down the actual quality of play for everyone but lets parents believe their little snowflake is special and "elite"

Thats what everyone says "the speed of play". Unfortunately Bryc girls and boys ecnl teams cant keep up with it either based on their records. God forbid they played a national schedule rather than the regional they play now. How about you ask your coach to play some of the other ecnl teams from around the country. It will open your eyes up to see in the US soccer world Bryc is just a money grab for the ecnl itself. Take their money to keep the ecnl running to help promote the actual elites from across the country

Stop it. Kids playing ECNL is a great thing and GA too. The kids are having fun and most will be able to play in college.

The BRYC girls just had a great friendly with FCV-games were very competitive in multiple age groups. They are definitely improving and are on an upward spiral! Great group of girls and parents too.

Doesn’t a “spiral” describe something that is a downward spiral....not upward?

NP. If you are going to be this pedantic, the answer is no, any more than one can only go down a spiral staircase. A spiral describes rotation, not up or down. Perhaps Trent Reznor needs to make a sequel to Downward Spiral to clear this up for you.

You sound like your in awww. Maybe you gave too much credit to FCV as if they’re some mythical beast. They’re just a bunch of girls, same age as yours, Kicking a ball. Afterwards, you went home and went on with life. That’s the way is goes.

You fell good about the result. It’s just one weekend. I remember when my kids team crushed the best team just to have the favor returned. Some weekends are different than others. Don’t read too much into it.
