Not sure if you are referring to the girls tournament or the boys but the girls tournament starts tomorrow and we continue to get communication confirming that the tournament is on.

Aren’t all or most of the games being held outside Montgomery County? If so, why wouldn’t they proceed as planned?

(Not sure if that planning was from Bethesda or was required by Soccerplex, but good foresight regardless)

Some of the games are being held in VA. Based on the fact that ALL(even VA) out of state teams were just excluded from this weekends Columbia Classic tournament, I can see the same thing happening next weekend.

The Columbia Classic banned out of state teams. Games were being held in Howard and AA Counties (to my knowledge). Managers received the following message:

"Attention: Howard and Anne Arundel County have come down with new protocols for this weekend's events and moving forward. No teams outside the state of Maryland will be permitted to play in any events moving forward until COVID-19 is back under control. This will mean that any team outside of Maryland for this weekend's event will be removed from the schedule. I will be taking down the current schedule and brackets. They will be posted back online by tomorrow with new bracket and schedules, I will make every effort to keep games as close as possible to their original time as well as make sure coaching conflicts are scheduled around. Please be patient with this process.

Another policy that the counties have passed down is that only 1 parent per player will be permitted to be on the sidelines. I need to stress this as much as possible, ONLY 1 PARENT per player. Coaches and managers you need to notify your parents that there are no exceptions to this policy. The county will shut down field locations if this is not followed, I was able to convince them to allow 1 parent as they did not want any spectators on the sidelines at all. All spectators will need to wear a mask at all times, again this is a policy that we already had in place and it will be enforced. Any spectator not willing to wear a mask will result in your team forfeiting the remainder of your matches. These policies need to be followed as we want to keep every in a safe environment and still follow county guidelines.

This decision would not necessarily impact the Bethesda Premier Cup.

U13 and U14s at Carsin's Run just cancelled due to too much rain. Rescheduled for the spring.

Who could possibly have thought that holding a tournament on grass fields with poor drainage at this time of year was a bad idea?

What's that? The same thing happened in prior years when the tournament was held at Muldoon's, the Polo Grounds and those other crappy locations?

Whoever made the decision at BSC to move the tournament from turf fields to Carsin's Run should lose their job.

Gee whiz. I thought Carsin’s were turf fields. Between this rain issue and the MoCo issue at Soccerplex , looks like BSC Premier Cup is a disaster this year.

Anonymous posters will spread fake news. Nothing to do with rain. In reality, the tournament is likely canceled due to the new Harford County CoVid Protocol to start tomorrow at 5pm. Tournaments are to be suspended on County Parks.

Meeting last night said it was still on. Team manager just stated he hadn't received anything cancelling it.
