Maybe after he dug the first grave he realized that he didn’t have time to dig any more before someone might show up. Or maybe he put the girls in first and didn’t think he could haul Shanann up there so dug a hole instead.

You all didn't watch the Documentary, did you? They showed the opening was too small to fit a full adult body in. As it is, he had to stuff his daughter's bodies in it.

It sounded like Chris was super close to his family before shanann. He probably resented her for putting a wedge between him and his parents .

Shut up and go away, loser.

What a heartbreaking story. That man is a monster.

This doc was interesting in that it didn’t include any interviews. It was all footage from news, police body cams, and police station interview rooms. Very different and kind of jarring to watch. Felt like you were watching it all unfold in real time with everyone involved. Creepy.

Honestly I don't think his plan was THAT bad. It all fell apart because Shannan told every single thing to her BFF - including details on their sex lives - and had asked her to take her to a 8AM doctor's appointment, so the friend called the police immediately when she didn't pick up.

I mean there are friends and there are friends. But even I am stump that they went to a 2-day conference together, stayed in the same hotel room together, took a flight back together, drove home together at 2AM, and were still raring to see each other again at 8AM the same morning.

Who does that? That's an unreal bond or dependency - I can't tell which.

The friend called to check on her in the morning because she had been upset on the trip. There weren’t plans to go together to the dr appt. the friend didn’t go to her house until several hours later when she couldn’t get ahold of her.

Agree with the tmi sharing with friends, but I think that’s how some people who aren’t super close with their spouses, or are stressed about their marriages, operate.

Regarding the stupidity, it was the immediate agreeing to the polygraph that struck me.

Anyone who reacts to dissatisfaction with their life and marriage with violence is clearly operating with their lizard brain. Way beyond stupid.

Yikes she really hated her in laws.

Wow, so the in-laws had already tried to murder the kids!?! Psychopath behavior runs in the family.

She seemed like an annoying attention-hungry narcissist, but that’s a lot better than being an evil psychopath. I mean if you’re too broke too divorce, just bail.

Do you feel better after typing that, abuser?

Hey, you know what she wasn’t? A murderer.

I texted my husband - you better not kill me or they'll make a Netflix documentary about us.

There's an almost three hour video interview of him on Youtube. You can't see the interviewers but I think it's the cops who interviewed him in the documentary. It's so weird to listen to how *nice* the cops are to him. Like they are old friends. I understand it's a tactic to get him to talk but it's just so creepy and disturbing. He sounds like a teen boy in the interview. "I don't know" why, "I don't know" what came over me. He only shows emotions when he talks about killing the kids. And he is still a bit evasive about Shannan and the conversation and the actual murder.

He also says he climbed on top of Shannan to kill her.

I find his account of the crimes still to be questionable. Something just does not ring true about the sequence of events. That supposedly he had sex with Shannan, then murdered her two hours later when they woke up and talked. She had on a t shirt bra and panties when she died. Did they have sex then she put her panties back on? That doesn't make a lot of sense.
And the fact that there were no signs of her fighting back.
I think he strangled Shannan while she was face down. Possibly asleep. He doesn't want to admit that because it's so cowardly.
I think he murdered the kids in the house. Not sure if before or after Shannan. Why would he drive them to the oil field for 45 minutes and kill them outdoors like that? In your home there's more security and privacy.

He says Bella came into the room and asked if Shannan was OK. I think that Bella woke up when he was killing Cece. I think that's what Bella saw and asked him about. For some reason he doesn't want to admit it.
